So what's your favorite CCW?

Depends on what I'm shooting (and therefore carrying) at the time since whatever it is; is my "favorite" until I re-realize another is a "favorite" some months later.

I'm familiar with it.
Aint 8 AM yet ... 92% humidity - already 82 degrees feels like 90.
Loose fit untucked "fishing" shirt and Glock 19. ;)
Inland Florida here. 7am sitting motionless in the shade and pouring sweat. What an S hole this place is. I’ve noticed that all the locals who claim to “love Florida weather” are flabbos who don’t do anything outdoors.

Sorry, I’m resentful about winding up here. Good medical care here though. I’d be dead if I were still in Los Angeles.

Welcome to Florida. I am born and raised here and not a flabbos. I love the outdoors and would rather sweat than shovel snow.

Mine's been a Shield Plus for several months now. That said, I still haven't been able to find any spare 13-round mags, except on GB. I bought a couple at high, but not exorbitant, prices. Still, they've been fully loaded for a few months now, so I decided it was time to make a switch and give those mag springs a rest. Yes, I know the issue of whether mag springs will "take a set" comes up from time to time. I don't really understand the science behind it and decided just not to risk it. So, with all of that said, I switched to my Shield 4" .45 for a while. Shield 45, final.jpg

For 30 years I mainly carried an AMT 380 backup in a wallet holster. With the recent surge in crime I have gone to an AMT backup dao 45ACP. I just drop it in my hip pocket and go.

Interesting. You don't see AMT guns in use very much anymore. I really wanted one of their stainless 1911s back in the 80s. Never got one.

Not me I would gladly go out and shovel some snow. No matter how cold it gets I can dress for it but in the heat I can only get so naked. :p

Amen brother, that's what I've always said. And I've lived in AK where -30 ambient or worse was a fact of life for a good portion of winter (plugging your engine block heater in each night and hoping it wasn't so cold the extension cord wouldn't shatter, cause stripping and patching a shattered cord is a PITA in the cold).

65-75 is my wheelhouse, any hotter and I'm miserable, but I can handle cold much easier.

Looking forward to an early fall myself, happily.

Glock 27 in a Blackhawk Serpa holster. I've tried to replace both gun and holster several times over the past 20 years, still keep using this set up. Glock 27 has slide, extractor & barrel NP3 coated and wears Night Fision sights. Pants on, gun on!

I too have a Glock 27 I have been carrying for many years...usually as a BUG in a DeSantis Ankle Glove. However, it fits well in a cargo-pants pocket. I usually have 165 grain High-Velocity Gold Dots (LE Only) loaded.

Summer time = Hellcat, P365, 43X, Kimber Pro Carry

Winter time = G19, G32, Walther PPQ M2 .40 or XD-45.

All depend on what I want to carry at the moment.

Several years ago a friend needed money. While I likely never would have bought this gun I have become real fond of it. Never would have thought a 3" barreled .45 ACP would work so well. I like JHP bullets and it shoots JHP as well as hardball .45 ACP. The gun is small and compact so it works well for me. Maybe if I find another compact .45 ACP but for now this little Kimber I trust. It just plain works. :)

Thinking on it further, I'd have to say that I do have a favorite. Sure, I keep trying new things every so often but since I started carry in 2010 or so I always end up back with a Glock 19. Started with a Gen 3, then 4 now 5 but I always, inevitably end up with a Glock in my holster eventually.

Also, same goes for knives. This Spiderco always ends up back in my pocket after occasional forrays into other knife options.

Lc9s or lcp routinely but planning to get the security 9 compact. I have the full size and shoot it well, so will be transitioning to the compact once I find one available locally.

Except for a few weeks (at most) in winter, the weather in SE Florida only allows me pocket carry. At least that has been my tenet, reinforced by decades of experience. My preferred carry in that circumstance is this 5-shot .38 Special J-frame, a S&W Model 60-7 Chief's Special in stainless steel.

Note: I finally identified the brand name of the pocket holster, which I'd forgotten. Blade-Tech. Doesn't have the name on it but there's a barely discernible outline of the brand logo. Apparently they don't carry this holster model anymore. In fact, no pocket holsters are listed in their product menu.
