Has anyone noticed since Larry stepped down Midwayusa has gone way down hill? I used to order everything hunting, camping, shooting and sometimes even work boots from them. Never had a torn box, returned item, great packaging. Well I ordered a deer cart last week from them and opened it last night and immediatly noticed the box that was supposed to be stapled was re taped shut. I opened it and loose zip ties, loose bolts, 2 small boxes completely empty with tape on them. It appears the fabric straps are missing the grommets the bolts should go through. I am going to call them today and tell them I want a replacement ASAP and I am not paying shipping.

I know someone who ordered 1k bullets and the bullet box wasnt taped and opened inside the box and he lost quite a bit when they fell out of a hole in the corner of the box. I have recently got boxes that have no filler and stuff just falls around inside it.

Have not seen any issues. I have ordered/received three separate items from Midway in the past 6-8 weeks. One was ammo and the other two hunting related. One item was a large cardboard shipping box with a 2-man pop up blind. Other than the normal UPS/FedX bruises all came in well packed and intact. I would certainly give them a call.

MidwayUSA is my default choice for most items. Sometimes their economy shipping takes a while, but that’s not their fault. In general I’m very satisfied with them. Hopefully this is a one-time thing for you and they make it right.

I haven't had any problems with MidwayUSA in all the years I have been shopping with them. They have always shipped things out quickly. Now if it goes by FEDEX or UPS and then gets transferred to the USPS then it take longer to get my orders. But that is a problem between the shipping companies and USPS. And if I really need something ASAP, I'll just drive the 60 minutes and go pick it up at Midway.

What did they say when you contacted them about it? Or have you?

I've been ordering most of my stuff from Midway now rather than Brownell's and couldn't be happier.

Ive had a number of problems with them shipping/packing wise, both before Larry left and since. I pretty much quit ordering from them unless they are the only ones who have what I need.

They still continue to pack things wrong for what they are packing. Boxes of heavy stuff in with more fragile stuff and one little airbag as a buffer. You can always tell which package is from Midway just by picking it up. Sounds like something is broken inside, and more often than not, it is. o_O

Got some primers from them, but took 20 days. They said it was cause UPS couldn’t get Haz-mat drivers. Happy to have any primers. Also just got 200 .38, 125 grain HP. Shipping does seem slower, used to get stuff next day when I lived 3 hours away from Columbia.

My boxes have been intact but a couple of them were on the verge of being iffy. And their customer service has been okay, not pretty good or excellent as it used to be but now, just ok. Their turnaround times have been atrocious, ridiculous actually, with it sometimes taking as much as three weeks to a month for "in stock" orders to arrive ... but they do not take that much time charging your card. They must be making big interest on our money before shipping when you take intonaccount the million$ they must be raking-in these days.

What has bothered me most of all about Midway, since Larry stepped-down or sold out or whatever he did, are the prices. 20% across the board price increases on many many items almost overnight with some items (especially reloading components) seeing far higher price increases than other online providers ..... which imho has been paramount to borderline price gouging.

It was not uncommon to see Midway charging $50 more for an 8pd tub/keg of smokeless compared to what Midsouth and Powder Valley were charging for the same propellant. Similar gouging for pills and primers.

I used to spend probably $1000 or more a year, for years and years, with Midway but I've cut way back since. I do a lot more business with Graf's and PV and Midsouth, among others, these days.

Same thing could be said for both Cheaper Than Dirt and Wideners when those two were bought-out. Wideners I used to order-from and then pick-up at their warehouse in Johnson City when I was up there at our mountain house in Jonesborough ... but not anymore. And Cheaper Than Dirt should rename itself Cheaper Than Absolutely No One. Both of their prices have been exorbitant although I was recently told that Widener's is trying to regain some of their old loyal customers that abandoned them shortly after the sell-out because of abnormally high price increases.

Nope. I order from Midway about once a week and have never had any issues.

And I don't see evidence of undue price hikes. A lot of consumer items became more expensive -- and have stayed more expensive -- since the pandemic began, for the reasons we all know well, coupled with some periodic regional petroleum shortages.

I don't order from Midway because its prices are the best (they're usually not, unless you order sale/clearance items during free shipping periods) but because production selection and its customer service (over the phone) has always been great. They've made things immediately right for me even when I screwed up the order (like inadvertently ordering three of the same item, credited me for the two extra and didn't need them returned). Once I called them due to non-delivery (new postal carrier had dropped mailed item in wrong mailbox), they sent me new products even though I could not prove I hadn't received the items. Also, Midway typically has a decent selection of a lot of the kind of stuff I buy online, proven stuff, so until I see evidence of what a couple of posters here are claiming, I'll continue to patronize Midway.

That's not Midway's fault. That's the carrier's fault. Once Midway (or any other vendor for that matter) gives a package to the carrier, they don't have control over it any more.

The listed price of primers has almost tripled in 18 months. Only "good" thing is that they are unavailable.

If you order anything except powder or primers, it will arrive on time.
I have always trusted them & no problems until this China Virus hit,
but that is the carriers burden.
I have noticed a set back in packaging, like room left for the items
to shift around, unlike previously.
Still my go to place as well.

Never had any issues with Midway myself though all I've ordered from them has been small items.

I have not noticed any issues. I've placed and received 2 orders this year. Service appears same as it ever was.

I've ordered 9 times this year so far, with one on the way now, no issues yet.
Some prices are a little higher, some are the same as they were. Kinda like everywhere else.
I've never had an issue with Midway in the 15 years I've been dealing with them.
