Yeah, I've always liked Midway. Good merchandise, fast shipping, decent prices. I don't think I've ever had a damaged or incomplete shipment. They do have a marketing gimmick that irks the snot out of me though. They seemingly always have free shipping for orders over $49 (love that). But they sometimes advertise Special Free Shipping! [yea] ... (on orders over $49). IOW they make it sound like a 1 week only, 1 weekend only, whatever, but it's the usual shipping policy

-jb, sees through that like a window :p

:free shipping usually applies only to regular price items

But in reality there is no such thing as "free shipping" It is built in to every price

It does make us feel like we are getting a deal:)

So far (knock on wood) I've not had any issues with Midway. Always gotten what I needed in a timely manner, and in good condition. However, I've noticed that places like Graf & Sons, Midsouth, etc. are beating them on their prices. Shipping seems cheaper at the other outfits, too. The only issue there is, those other places will be out of stock when I need something, and Midway will have what I need. And if I really need it, I will go ahead and buy from Midway. Otherwise I tend to wait until in-stock elsewhere.

Out of curiosity, has anyone noticed that the "Free Shipping over $49" doesn't apply to reloading supplies or ammo anymore. Just last spring, I ordered some ammo from them and got the shipping free. Now, if you order ammo, or even bullets, cases, etc., they will not honor the free shipping offer. Seems like that's only for sunglasses, caps, and fishing lures! Gee I miss Larry....

Just received an order of classic lee loaders , a set of measuring scoops/dippers and a Forster bullet puller, no issue what so ever, best deal on the lee loaders, were on sale for 38 bucks.

I think it's more a sign of the times than anything, even if Larry was still on board (didn't know he stepped down) there is a chance between the S+H department and the carrier, it's hard to find dependable, competent workers right now. Lots of people still cashing enhanced unemployment checks and alot of companies can't uphold the same threshold of quality control and overall care their employees have in the performance of their jobs, seems to be a certain insouciant attitude and lack of upholding standards across the board right now. It's not subtle either......

I've probably ordered more from Midway than all others combined. Very few complaints. And I do take advantage of the free shipping offers. Where else can you get bullets shipped to your doorstep and not pay a shipping fee? Lead is heavy, and so are the prices to ship it. If I subtract to 15 bucks saved on Free Shipping, the cost of the items goes way down.

I still buy from Midway but not as much as I used to as I now shop around more and find the same item cheaper somewhere else. Not the great prices you used to see there. But same issue with Cablas and Cheaper than dirt.

Early on, both their prices and shipping costs were pretty reasonable. That changed a good while back, and especially with the shipping. There have been a number of times when I got to the last page and ended up canceling the order, because the shipping was ridiculous for the few things I was ordering.

I order bullets from a number of other places that mostly just sell bullets, and at much better prices, and free shipping is the norm with a couple of them. They also seem to understand what you have to do to pack heavy items like bullets, as Ive never had an issue with any of them in that respect. Unlike what Ive gone through with Midway a number of times now.

One of the last things I ordered from Midway they were running a deal on a Vortex Strike Eagle and a free mount which was a pretty good deal. I bought one, thought about it, and decided to buy a second. When I went back, they were already on backorder. The date they were expected was the day after the promo ran out. I asked them if I ordered then, on backorder, while the promo was still in effect, would they honor the promo if it came in after the date, and they said no. If it came in before they would, but dont bet on that happening. That cost them the sale and I got it for the same price, sans the mount somewhere else.

Over all the years that I have shopped with Midway, I have had to contact customer service only twice. Once was for a missing magazine and the second time was to return a reloading press. When I contacted them about the missing magazine they had the replacement to me the next day. I used their no questions customer satisfaction guaranty when returning the reloader that I could not get to work properly even after calling the manufacturer. Midway did not hesitate to send me a return shipping label and issue a full refund.

I've never had any serious problems with Midway. I don't expect them to honor prices seen in 2019 because I imagine cost has increased dramatically for them (like literally everyone else).

My only complaint is that they need to sell more $7-$8 qualifying items. Seems about half the time, my cart has $42 worth of items in it and I spend an hour trying to find something useful to get free shipping.

The last time I ordered 4K primers from them, the outside box was beat up but it was all there.
For some reason the USPS all of a sudden doesn't like people shipping anything gun related. The boxes almost always get torn up.

I’ve ordered from Midway and Brownells a few times each in the past month and gave bought stuff from them for at least the last 15 years. Both have come through for me with flying colors on all I’ve ever bought from them.

I’m sure that with the volume of ordering over the past 18 months they’ve had numerous clinkers sent out, but I can imagine they’re not very common.

Stay safe.
