Talk me out of a CZ P10C

As a guy who carries a P-10C and P-10S...can't help ya. I never wanted a striker fired pistol, and then I handled a P-10C, and down the rabbit hole I went. Damn fine sidearm, sir.
The only "horror story" was that bogus "slide catching on the striker" deal, which I did a video disproving, then CZ changed the design slightly to make sure you couldn't set it up deliberately. Other than that, the only horror story is how many of us spend a lot of money on buying P-10s.

Let me make it worse. Buy a CZ before it becomes a Colt product out of Massachusetts.

Just kidding, but right now, if it's CZ, that is exactly what you get.

Nobody is anticipating any drop off in quality, and certain expect some improvement for Colt. The real issue is where will the plant eventually wind up and what products will be made there. Once that production starts then the foriegn imports will diminish on those lines, which was the entire point of buying Colt. To make CZ a US source of contract pistols to LEO/MIL.

Right now you have a choice, in the future it's possible some of those choices may go away, and it's equally possible new better choices appear. At least this way you know exactly what you are getting into and you took advantage of the situation while you could.

Or, eternally kick yourself for your lost opportunity. So the internet would have you believe.

It's a gun, we all have more than we can even carry from the car to the range bench in one trip. One more or less won't make or break our spirit.

Hmm…If you get the P10C, you’ll have to buy another holster? Other than that, I got nothing.

My advice is always shoot what you are considering first before dropping the cash whenever possible. How a pistol "feels in the hand" at the gun counter does not mean that much compared to actual live firing. The P10C is a fine pistol along with many others examples available from other manufacturers. I tried shooting the P10C and for me it was just too small for my hands, especially trigger reach, for my liking especially with the trigger breaking way far back.

I am still very happy with my Gen 2 Glock 19 with the Grip Force adapter in it for CCW.

Instead I was going to suggest you also take a look at the P10S and maybe the new P10M when it's available!

Why would I want to talk you out of buying it? It isn't going to cost me anything if you do. Come on now, you know you want it or you wouldn't have posted about it so go buy it. Be sure to post a report after you shoot it.

Me too, at least with the P07! The P09 feels a little bit too big in the grip frame for my smaller size hand.

But the P07 fits and feels just right!

The P10S is interesting. My pinky finger sits right at the end of the grip and wants to slide off. I really hate that feeling but I can probably train it away so it's not necessarily a deal breaker. The M is just a bit too small for me.

Hmmm, and here I am just south of you in CG...with the fam...

What's funny is looking at that pic and realizing that three of my four Czech pistols were made in the United States.

I am impressed with the F variant. I (correctly or incorrectly) place my P10F into the M&P Pro Center 9L ported and G34 I also have ported category for what I shoot without regards to any comp regs. I also shoot the G17, 19, 43, 43x, etc. The as-all-factory P10F trigger is exceptional in this comparison. I don't own the C variant but past experience would make it very inviting. Sometimes it's hard to switch horses even when a potentially better one comes along. Starting from scratch & with the other relative top ponies to choose from; I would lean more into talking you into it. More from a shooter POV and not from a CW POV.

You absolutely should not buy a CZ P10C . You should buy 2 .

OP: No attempt here to sidetrack you, as long as you prefer striker-fired guns.

About four years ago I rented Both a Walther PPQ and a CZ P10c.

I liked both equally, and very much….

…..but my centerfire handguns must be DA/SA and most have metal frames, simply because of the looks,sound and feel of metal.

It can be both DA/SA or SA. The part needed to convert it from being a decocker, (i.e. a thumb safety), to a SA set-up comes with the gun and it's an easy change to make. The directions to do it are in the owner's manual. This photo of my gun shows it in the SA mode.

Just few months back i was looking for my first polymer hadgun and P10 was sorta on list. I ruled it out quickly because i didnt like ballance, grip, grip textue which is quite a meat grinder and i had trouble to keep gun stable while shooting anyway
Trigger and overall quality were nice.
My buddy from police used CZ configuration tool so he have quite neat looking gun, its his edc yet he prefer to shoot Cz 75 compact and police which is also more accurate for him.
Outside the "feel of gun" i also thought it kinda doesnt offer more than others and went for Beretta APX instead

That said, i have to jump back on to enablers horse - the main thing is how you feel about that gun, it will do its job no doubt, but you have to enjoy it, or it will be just another tool

I had a P10C a while back. Seemed to be basically a Glock copy. Mine was the suppressor ready model and came with a threaded barrel and the higher sights.

I dont know if they have since addressed it, but the gun really wasnt suppressor ready as it came. It wouldnt begin to cycle for over 200 rounds with the suppressor on the gun and was basically a single shot that you had to manually cycle. It got better the more it was shot with it on there and began to break in, but it never was 100% while I had it. Shot and worked fine without the can on the gun.

My only other complaint was the trigger. It wasnt a bad trigger, but it was kind of mushy, and didnt let off with a clean break.
