Uberti Expendable .45 LC

The cool part is that this revolver is a faithful replica of the original design used in the movies. Well, almost faithful - the revolver seen in most of the scenes has a black powder frame. The not so cool part - the said movies were not so great to begin with (IMHO they were awful, but that is just me)... So, unless OP is a hardcore fan of The Expendables trilogy, I say skip it for reasons already stated by others above.

At $700 I would pass. I honestly don’t know much about Uberti internal parts and highly doubt I ever will.

If it were me, since they have “had the gun for years” I would wait a week. Do some more research. The desire might cool over a few days.
then it would be in my mind until I die… Rumor has is, it was custom tune by Uberti custom shop and only 100 was made

Then it was waiting for me… Just waiting for crazy old me to actually like it…

I’m buying it guys! it matches my 1873 24” .357! just not the same caliber and stuff

In that case…I hope you really enjoy it.

Far be it from me to question anyone’s firearm desires. I am getting ready to overhaul a New Vaquero and installing white imitation pearl grips on it. :D

add a Cobra to the pearl! now we taking!

I just don't get the "cool factor" so frequently referred to. Probably because I'm too much of a history buff. Heck, I have trouble watching Western movies anymore. If it makes the OP happy, more power to him. I still don't get it.

I ve seen lots of "slip hammer" good fast work in SASS but really no fanning . I did see fanning in the early 60s Western Fad , it was with wax blanks and was one shot usually. Sammy Davis Junior and Thell Reed were masters of it as well as others. I is extremely hard on the internals.

I’m at the shop… it’s missing the round thing on the hammer! SUCKS

You need to reload, I shot 100 rounds out of my 696 just last week. Just loaded that back up yesterday as a matter of fact. No shortage of 44 or most other things around here. At least as long as the primers hold out.

I point shoot all the time, and sights, or the lack of them, really isnt an issue at closer distances, its not at all hard to make good hits, but it does take practice. Everything isnt always close either, so what then? Or do you only practice for things up close?

So, with the 44 Spl being a "low pressure " round, you dont mind that blast and crap coming up to your face from the porting when firing from retention?

And being its low pressure, whats the point of porting it anyway?

I suppose on the plus side, not having that front sight, you dont have to deal with trying to get all that crap off the front sight after youve shot it a couple of cylinders full. The lead from LSWC's is a real PITA. And your face too, if youre not careful. ;)

Porting due to weight .. Im thinking with the small panel grips …16 oz ? I weighed it once ..
I never had any incident of getting anything in my eyes of face ….
But if I did .. any damage to my face would be a improvement

I didn’t buy it, they are missing the round thing on top of the hammer. That was a huge part of the story of the gun. And I’m not trying to look for parts in Italy

The story on Internet Movie Firearms Database is that the revolver originally had a conventional hammer, but when Sylvester Stallone fanned it, it tore his hand up.
So the armourer added rollers to the hammer to make it easier on him.

As a replica of a movie prop, it might have had some curiosity value, if still complete "as seen in The Expendables".

it’s missing the Rollers so Not Complete! I will pass… unless it’s a ridiculously low price later. Like $400

@Mark_Mark

Why don't you have a look at uberti website and see all of the models they offer. They have a great selection of more traditional SAA's....
I think you might find one that suits you better than the expendables model.
If you still want it after checking out the other models, then go for it.

Here's my el patron for an appetizer.

Here's my 3 Ubertis in 357. All were bought for under $500.

And no I would not pay $700 for any Uberti. Much less that monstrosity.
