Sierra's .355" 124 & 125 gr. Bullets

I have noticed that Sierra offers a 124 and 125 gr. bullet in .355". I couldn't tell much difference from online pictures. But then I came across this article;

The 124- and 125-grain bullets differ in an interesting way. The lighter 124-grain bullet is longer than its heavier 125-grain sibling. The nose shapes are different. The 124-grain bullet has a longer, more gradually tapered nose that would be typical of a 9mm Luger bullet. The 125-grain bullet has a shorter nose that is likely designed with the .357 SIG in mind, and it looks like the same bullet loaded in my sample of the company’s .357 SIG ammunition. SIG also loads a 125-grain bullet in its .38 Special, .38 Super and .357 Magnum ammunition.

Now I have purchased the 124 gr. but the 125 gr. seems to be out of stock where I have looked. Not sure it makes a difference to anyone here. But just thought I'd post this info.

BTW, the .355" 147 gr. V-crown doesn't seem to be produced by Sierra.
 
I’ve loaded several hundred 124 grain .355’s with BE-86 for my short barreled 9’s with great results. Both the P365 and Hellcat shoot them great.

I’d assume Sierra has more demand for the 124’s over the 125 Sig bullets so production is higher for the 124 offerings.

I also load .357 Sig but haven’t given their 125’s a try yet.

I've shot the Sierra's Sports Masters JHP. The V-crown is new to me. I bought some of the 90 & 124 gr. Haven't loaded any yet.
That is what I was thinking, I just keep looking to see if the 125 gr. shows up anywhere.

But I'm pretty sure Sierra does make the 147 V-Crown bullet for Sig Sauer.

You see, Sierra makes Sig's 115 and 124 grain V-Crown 9mm bullets, and they come in a bag, too, at the Sig website.

I don't think the reasons you give are good enough reasons as evidence that Sierra does not make the 147 grain bullets. It looks like a stretch to make that assumption based on where you had to get them and how they are packaged. I think you have assumed too much.

So, I'm pretty sure Sierra does make the 147 V-Crown bullet for Sig. Besides, I asked Sierra. They said yes, they make the 147 grain V-Crown bullets.

See, instead of checking the facts, you made it up out of thin air. And you were wrong. I wonder if there is a lesson here?

I stated that Sierra doesn't seem to make the 147 gr. While other V-crowns are list on their site, nothing that I have found shows them relaing to Sierra.
Nor are they shown on sites such as Powder Valley.
Unless you can show me otherwise, how have I assumed too much?

I might have misread and over-reacted to that, so I'm editing my post.

It's not unusual for a manufacturer to not list all the products they make. They might have contracts with some companies that prevent them from doing so.

It's not unusual for a retailer to not list all the products a manufacturer makes.

If you want the right answer, ask the manufacturer. I don't know how many times I've said that at this website. It's easy to do. And that's what customer service is for.

I probably contact one or both, as I placed an order for 2. And to see their recommended loads.
 
I also have a 124 grain V-Crown load with the same powder as the Sierra Sports Master 124 JHP. Both shot the same size grouping with BE-86. Ended up loading 1K of the Sierra Sports Master 124 gr JHP for SHTF zombie bug out ammo….lol
 
Here are samples of the V-crowns in 90 gr., 124 gr., and 147 gr. I haven't found the 125 gr. in stock of late.

Sierra makes the Blackjack bullets in 131 grain for .257" caliber rifles ...

I have shot a few boxes of the Sierra 125 grain .355" ....they shot really good in my SIG .... never found them in stock lately

Just noticed that Mid south Shooters has the 125 grain .355" in stock

I was too late. They do say that the quantity of 500 is due in soon.
