Magazine interchange?

I think you are getting some numbers confused. It is fairly well known that Army shooting teams used *modified* 15 or 20 round Beretta 92/M9 magazines to fit the M11. The M11 was a small order special service firearm for shooting teams, some MPs, CID etc. The M11 in civilian speak is the Sig P228, a slightly smaller brother to the P226.

As to the M17/M18 magazines, the only thing they might be compatible with is the P320, maybe. Unlike with the Beretta 92/M9 and the P228/M11 adoptions, more was changed on the 320 to make the M17 and 18. So I am not entirely sure those magazines change.

Same mags but the catch slot is different. If you hold a 92 mag in a P226 with your pinkie it functions fine. Beretta followers will lock the slide back, MecGars won’t IME.

P226 and M92 magazines do look pretty similar but the hole for the release is in different spots.

The modification I mentioned earlier is the AM teams would cut a notch for the M11 magazine release. In the article I posted, it shows a modified M9 magazine about 3/4 down.
