I have one of those but for an XDm 10mm. They say on their website not to use their system with a modified trigger. My XDm has a modified trigger and the conversion does NOT appreciate it.

I wonder how it would work with OEM "minus" connectors.
You should see how much Glock "uppers" sell for over eBay...
...for the price of a whole new pistol.
Makes a good little cottage industry for Polymer80 crims, if they indeed exist...

I have the MecTec for the G-40. Also the G-17. Had one for the 1911 as well.
A bit heavy for what they are. Consistently reliable with a wide range of bullet weights and power levels. The 10mm kit fired the .40s&w with the same reliability. Built pretty rugged.
Accuracy was a bit surprising in all 3. Much better than expected out to 100yds. My friends dubbed them the "giggle sticks" Fun to shoot, eats ammo faster than you would ever believe. Even the lowly 9mm is nothing to sneeze at coming out of a 16" barrel. The velocity is reminiscent of a 357mag out of a 4" pistol. The .40s&w should be impressive as well.
There won't be anything short and weak about it.
Just aquired a G-41 lower specifically for another MecTec CCU in .45acp. The other two have dedicated lowers as well.
About the only thing that would make them better is if Glock would make 33rd 10mm and .45 magazines.
Dandy little carbines for HD or a great truck gun with all the crazy unrest out there. A bit pricey, but IMHO worth it.
I have the wire stocks, Vortex red dot optics, & flip-up irons. The 10mm unit rides in my harley's trunk on long rides through the PNW mountain roads, the G-40 tucked under my jacket. Some of the local wildlife isn't freindly to humans and some of the locals along those back roads don't like "tourists "
Good investment if you're thinking of getting one. But, I'm sure you know that you can get a decent AR for about the same $, and even less if you shop around.
The selling point to me is that I've always had an affinity for pistols and handy little carbines that share the same ammo. These share magazines as well as the same controls.
It works for me.

Yep, I like sharing ammo too … my most recent combo is an AR57 I’ve had for several years. It started life with a 16” barrel but a year or so ago I had it cut down to 8” & threaded. It’s fun with my M16 lower and works fairly well with a Franklin Armory Binary trigger.
After hearing numerous positive reports on the Ruger 5.7 I picked one up before the prices skyrocketed as they did on the FN 5.7.
For me they’re just paper punching toys but I wouldn’t hesitate to grab them for varmints or self-defense in a pinch …

Although expensive, the Kriss Vector in either the carbine or braced pistol version is a nice 10mm option and takes Glock mags. And on can change our the lower for new calibers.

If you're going to use it for hunting, get the extended top rail. Pass on the rest of the tacticool bolt on stuff.
Please do get the treaded barrel and the flash hider. It's a little cheesy, but it opens a few options down the road for a supressor if you lean that way.
Just an FYI... I use the collapsing wire stock 99% of the time as it makes the smallest package. But I also have the solid stock for hunting, they switch out easily. I opted for the M-4 carbine stock and switched the stock and tube for a fixed A-2 stock. Makes for a solid hold.
If your area has magazine limits for hunting there are several companies that sell limiters to keep you in compliance.
I have a low power variable scope on a QD mount that I can switch out the red dot for hunting. Doesn't seem to lose zero on either one.
Multiple uses for this setup.
I've gone deep in the rabbit hole on these, so feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Better to post them here in the open so you can get multi point feedback.

They aren't "traditional" You'll get a little ribbing at the range. Everything from "Spaceboy" and "Buck Rogers" to "What the heck is that?"
Just smile and cut the center out of a few targets and wink at them. That usually shuts them up. Might make a few friends if you let them shoot a mag throught it. I did.
The darn things are just fun!!

Interesting, I’ve never looked at them, that would definitely help off-set the cost … on the other hand, would it be less expensive to just build a lower from an 80% kit? (If an 80% kit will work)

My 10mm AR pistol is a Moriarti Arms with a 10.5 inch barrel. Its a matched upper and lower so its doesn't have swappable parts but it uses glock mags and after a little "massaging" of the ejector and polishing the face of the barrel and chamber it works great with any ammo I've tried reloads included.
And accuracy is very pleasing at 50 yards with a simple red dot
