Any particular reason you want FMJ? The cheapest I use to shoot was Berry's plated.

I shoot mainly MBC BE#1 and BE#2, coated or not. 45acp is not known for causing leading in a barrel, just run the soft BHN 9-10 and you want have any problem. All it takes to clean my barrel is a couple of patches on a jag.

no reason, my colt just feed round ball fmj well. don’t feel like re-testing and such

Another good option is a Hitek coated bullet from somewhere like Acme. Your gun will never know the difference. But your wallet certainly will.

my Colt hates coated bullets, it gets stuck in the chamber and I had to use a hammer to punch the slide back to remove a live stuck round

Not FMJ but I use the grooveless 230gr. coated 45 ACP bullets from Missouri Bullet Co. $55.50 per 500 + shipping. These have worked flawlessly in my 45 ACP Springfield 1911 Range Officer.
