Check your ammo before you buy!

Back in the o bummer years I bought up ammo to put in my stash. I bought one 100 round and one 50 round box of Winchester 38 spl. fmj. About one year ago I pulled the 50 round box out and fired two cylinders full . I was loading the third cylinder when I noticed they were not fmj but were +P.
Would not have been a problem except my 38 is not +P rated. The box was plainly marked fmj no +P and I've never bought any. No one else had access to my ammo stash. So there was no mistake on my end and they had to come from the store that way.

If any of you people would like to buy empty primer boxes please let me know. Empty boxes like those below cost $3.00 each I accept cash in a brown paper envelop only.


Now if you want empty 1,000 primer boxes like below I can let them go for $30 each.



Just send me your hard earned money and I will get them right out to you and since the boxes are empty (some likely have air in them) I won't worry about HAZMAT and just send them USPS.

These are empty boxes. For an additional fee I will hand pick empty boxes.

The clerk had a valid point. It might not be illegal but it certainly isn't a good idea to put your fingerprints on ammo you aren't walking out with. I've used this same argument in the past as another reason you shouldn't litter. Do you want your fingerprints and DNA to show up on a soda can next to a body along the side of the road? Do you want your DNA to show up on a cigarette butt next to that same body? Don't handle ammo you aren't going to buy and don't litter.

Seriously we are talking about a return in a small gun shop. Not exactly like buying from a reputable retailer. Maybe you would not check but I certainly would.

My post was also more aimed at humor not intended to be taken seriously. However if you were buying returned merchandise in a small gun shop and chose not to check the contents of the boxes cool with me, I would check under those circumstances.

On some nowadays you have to check the lot number to see if they are recalled.

I've seen bank tellers that can't count money, cashiers at stores that can't count money,
( where both jobs require the ability to
accurately count and make change)
people working at automotive related jobs
that know nothing about the automotive trade, people in gun stores/departments
that know nothing of guns, etc. etc.

It's a backwards world in 2021

JMHO- if you got arrested and charged
because of "evidence " where you
handled something at one point, that's
not saying much about the ability of an
investigator. I couldn't even put a number
to the firearms and knives and " wheppons"

The Walmart in my area will not sell "handgun" ammo...concerned about crime, ya know. They probably didn't get the memo that .22 ammo can be shot in .22 pistols and can be used in crimes. DUH!

In my state, handguns are registered and listed on your CCW permit. For the longest time, Wal-Marts around here used ask if the ammo you were buying was for a rifle or a pistol, and then make you show your permit if you said "pistol," to make sure you own a handgun in that caliber. Let me say emphatically that THIS IS NOT A STATE LAW! We have a lot of stupid laws, but that ain't one of them. It was an idiotic store policy, and no one would even attempt to explain the reasoning behind it. A friend of mine used to buy .45 ACP, and when they asked the "rifle or pistol" question, he would say, "Neither -- it's for a submachine gun."

Of course, now that they won't sell "handgun" ammo, it's a moot point.
