New Super Blackhawk

Nice score, I haven’t seen a brand new Blackhawk in quite a while. And you’re probably better off with the NOS one than a brand new one they way companies are cranking out product right now.
I hadn't seen any either, I almost scored a .44 mag vaquero but it wasn't meant to be. I'm pretty happy with this one though a new holster and grips are in the works though

I have them in 41 and 44 Magnum, lots of tune up potential and goodies out there for that platform..

Enjoy it in good health mate..

thanks, I sold off a .41 mag blackhawk last year, I do have a .357 one I intend on sending to Bowen when I get an extra couple grand. The knife is a custom Bowie I had made by 310 Forge, I designed it around the Bart Moore Bowie but with a coffin handle vs the round type originally on it. The blade was from an 1880s saw blade and the guard and pommel was made from wrought iron from a 18th century wagon wheel.

Congrats on a great deal. Got a used one from circa 1985 and all I had to do was change the grips. As good as the regular Blackhawks are (and I have a bunch of them) I think the Super is even more accurate. Wish I could shoot well enough to match its potential.

I would say those Colorado bears better be careful. :D

I too have had many iterations of the blackhawk family, as a matter of fact I was the first one in my small town to get the ruger Bisley superblackhawk in the 3.75 inch barrel when they first came out. I hope to run this one through its paces well enough soon. The first handgun I ever bought was a Ruger Super Blackhawk with the 7.5 inch barrel from a guy at bass pro parking lot when I was 19, also gave me a bag of pears for some reason. and yes those bears better watch out.

That is a great gun! There is nothing like adding a nice Blackhawk to the safe. Enjoy your new gun and have a great trip.

Pears and bears all in one sentence by Barry the Bear.
Confusing.
I do like that 44 with the traditional trigger guard much more than the one with that squared off rear. I would love to find one like yours.

Congratulations, a single action out west, what's better than that? I have Blackhawks in .45 Colt, .44 Special and .357 Magnum, great revolvers!

I bought a .357 blackhawk last month for 400, the gun has some weird patina ish markings over the bluing, I was able to get it back to snuff with light polishing and some mothers mag, It is a 6.5 inch barrel, I am debating either saving this for a Bowen custom template OR trading it for a .308 bolt action since hunting season is coming up and Im in dire need of a rifle as well.

I've been thinking of a Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter in 41 Magnum. I can't get it out of my head. I don't really need it, and I've never even fired one, but it beckons to me.

Great gun, and strongly built. I love my old 3 screw one from '68
If you ever use it to hunt deer, get the hammer cocked as soon as possible, before he gets too close.

That is a nice score. As much as I love the ruger and the design of that pistol I have yet to own one, I need to rectify that PDQ!

Great looking gun. I really like the grips. Funny thing is just about 5 hours ago I got out my Super BH in 44 mag and removed the Houge rubber grip and reinstalled the original grips back on the gun. I did a Po-Boy trigger job while at by bending the trigger return spring a little. It worked too.

I bought my gun probably 18-20 years ago NIB for $400. But the seller said was the wrong box with the right end label??? The box is up in the attic and I can't remember if the paperwork is in there or not. Its a great shooting gun. I like loading pop gun loads with 5grs of Bullseye powder in a 44 mag case with a 240gr lead SWC bullet. Thats a fun load to shoot.

I never had the Bisley Hunter, I have had bisleys and Super Blackhawks before though, I got rid of a blackhawk .41 mag last year, wife wanted new furniture...

I've hunted with Blackhawks before, ruger only .45 colt and of course .44 mag loads, they typically don't run far but you're right, gotta be quick about it.
