All big bore lovers should have one.(IMO)

A couple of .44 mags.

I am having trouble tonight, so please forgive me.(switching providers, again)

Any ways, made a big mistake on not picking up another Virginian Dragoon at a gun show before Covid crap as it is the Mrs, favorite 44 to shoot.

It's only a 44 magnum, but if you want to hit something with it, it's heavy.

I have had some opportunities to shoot bigger than 44 Magnum and chose not to, so my 44 Magnum is never "only" for me. I am not a big strong man and believe I know my limitations. I think it is awesome that some of the ladies can shoot those cannons.

Regarding the heavy hitters, especially
the .480 and .500, how many of you
owners have shot them out-of-doors
and without hearing protection? What's
the experience?

Just wondering what it is like if you were
carrying such heavy hitters and faced
the need to defend yourself in a sudden
dangerous situation.

Second question involves the frequency
of firing full charge loads and what the
wrists and forearms and elbows feel like
after a session, say 5, 10 or 15 rounds?

I shoot the 460S&W, UncleEd, but I'll comment nonetheless. No way will I shoot these big bores without hearing protection. Even with the compensator removed, I use plugs and muffs. I suppose one could cause permanent hearing damage shooting it without ear protection, still I'd rather be alive and hard of hearing than dead or severely injured from a sudden dangerous situation.

I have a shooting regimen that involves warming up with lighter calibers or lighter loads and work my way up to the spicy barn-burners. I've shot over 60 rounds on one session, at least half of which were top-end loads and the only side effects were soreness in the fat of my palms. The X-frame is a heavy chunk of steel that helps mitigate some of that outrageous recoil.

Here are my heavy hitters. I had delusions of grandeur at one time of having a couple .44 Magnums and perhaps a .455 Casull, but alas, my wrists won’t tolerate that kind of recoil from a handgun anymore.
Though I am perfectly happy with these bad boys. ;)

It was actually drizzly day that day. Raindrops on my SSS .

My woods gun for the dsy.....lol IMG_20210424_180046.jpg

The SSS sees alot of woods time..... 20190507_190619.jpg

I followed the sound of Barry White songs and found these two. One appeared to be trying to get on top of the other, but couldn't quite make it. It was like he was stuck..... So I helped. He hissed at me.,! Very ungrateful, that's the last time I help a turtle play leapfrog. 20190501_114535.jpg
