Designs You Would Like To Make A Comeback

How about bringing back the S&W Model 58 but this time as an L frame with a round butt. Would also love to see the Ruger Six series brought back, maybe with a few updates like a heavy barrel, new sights, and offer a round butt configuration across the model line-up.

Winchester 1895 (IN 7.62x54r SPECIFICALLY!!! Jeez they keep doing it in runs every few years but they can’t make a Russian contract style with the stripper clip guides and bayonet lug :scrutiny:.)

Someone already said, a webley, but in .357 mag (there is a company in India that makes a modern webley but it’s made of titanium and costs of fortune. No one imports it either. There is a company in England that makes .357 magnum webley too, but they only make like 100 a year and they are so expensive.

a c96 Mauser in .45acp made here in the states with good quality control. The Chinese replicas from the 80’s are pretty hit or miss with the wood to metal fit.

I would really like Colt to bring back and modernize the Pocket Positive. Two versions: a long frame "Special" in .22WMR and .32H&R and short frame in .380 and 9mm with moon-clips.

Also, HK really needs to bring back the P9S but without the stupid disposable buffer. Use a spring and recoil plate, guys.

There are a number of guns I would like to see back in production.

The SIG 225 (the real one, not the so-called 225A1) and the BERETTA 8000L pistols, both in 9m.m. I have found that both have a very ergonomic grip that shoots well for me.

COLT Diamondback! I would love a "BLUE" 4 inch model and if it only comes in .38 Special, that is fine. I would not complain at all, if they brought out also, a 2 1/2 and 6 inch model.
The good sights, beautiful blue and styling of these revolvers is just not the same as the stainless replacements that COLT call's the COBRA line.

I would like to see a SIG 232 with the aluminum frame chambered for the 9x18m.m. ULTRA/POLICE round with a good hollow point round for self defense. The original 230 was available in this caliber and the better safety and grip of the 232 would make a wonderful carry gun.

Oh, and a BERETTA TOMCAT 3032 model with a 4 inch barrel.

Now that you mention it a .22lr. Diamondback would also be really cool. I'll immediately add a matched set to my "Ain't never gonna happen" Bucket List.

A P232 is another I've always had a hankerin for. Always thought it had a kind of Art Deco, Mauser HSC look about it.
Never had a chance to try one out.

Brutus,

I have a 230 and a 232 and can recommend the 232 without hesitation. It has all the usual SIG virtues with the grip on the base aluminum framed version being a great ergonomic match to my hand. I would like a more powerful round that the .380ACP and the 9x19 Police would do the job with a premium bullet very nicely. Combined with a compact size, lightweight and the usual SIG qualities and I think it would be a very good gun.

I keep bidding on Diamondback's, but so far they are selling for at least 1 more digit than I am willing to pay. I am cheap, I will be the first to admit it.

Brutus and Tallball,

The trigger pull on my 232 is better than on my 230. It is about what you expect on a SIG. I have found it smooth and lighter than my WALTHER PPK. It is similar to the BERETTA 84.
It is lighter than the PP (aluminum framed version), more accurate, much better sights (night sights) with a truly ergonomic grip, which is definitely not a WALTHER PP trait.

.40 Smith & Wesson berettas
Do you mean the 96 model? It doesn't appear to be in their current catalog, but they are still showing the APX and PX4 available in .40 S&W.

I've long argued Beretta really doesn't want you to shoot .40 S&W out of their 90 Series guns. Apparently, they've followed through on that.

The next Beretta to go away will probably be the 92A1. The only reason that was in the line-up (unless there is some agency buying it) was to have a buffer for the .40 S&W in the 96A1.
