Revolvers You’d Like To See Return

I really liked the S&W Nightguard series, but never bought one. Now, they are rare, and command a premium. A new 396NG or 386NG would be great.
For recent guns, bring back the Night Guard models.

I am glad you Gents mentioned the Night Guards. I have a 327 NG and would love a 325 NG as well as the 315 NG. They were off the market before I realized it and I haven’t seen either in real life since.

Here is an article from 2010 on the Night Guards.

I am surprised at the few Colts listed. For me, a 4 inch Colt Trooper (first model) with fixed sights. Shoots 38/357, has the classic Colt action before they made the 15 pound pull Mk III actions, and durability of fixed sights instead of fragile adjustable sights (easily busted if gun is dropped). Second choice, Colt Official Police 4 inch. Classic Eliot Ness revolver.

H&R Young America. Give it a rear sight, lighten the trigger, adjust the grips to make them more comfortable, if possible make it a swing out cylinder and make the frame aluminum.

Remington New Model Police. Asked Pietta earlier this year if they'd consider it, they seem open to the idea, but are super busy fulfilling orders. Will send them another request for it next year.

Top breaks. Maybe not practical for defense considering how few shootings ever require a reload, but I'm sure there are race gun shooters who'd benefit from the automatic ejection and greater space when using speedloaders. I just want one for fun.

The S&W Model 38 Bodyguard, blue, no lock, +p rated. I am all down for DAO but having a hammer that can be cocked is a good thing from time to time.

No lock Smith & Wesson® Model 58 41 Mag with round butt and 3" barrel.

Ruger® Blackhawk® 41 Mag with Bisley gip and color case hardened frame in both barrel lengths (4⅝" & 6½").

After much success elsewhere, thought I’d do a revolver specific version here. What Revolver design, model, version would you enjoy seeing make a triumphant return ?

And before anyone says it “S&W like back then” is not acceptable.

My personal choice would be a steel framed Centennial Smith & Wesson in .38 Spl, with no lock, the standard 1-7/8” unshrouded barrel, and the old style wood panel grips; tricked out for carry. *GOOD* factory action, machined for moon clips, tritium/FO front sight, deformed.
In short, a Mdl 40 or 640 with no grip safety.

I would love to see U.S. Firearms to be truly and properly resurrected. I realize that Standard Manufacturing is now making best-quality SAA-pattern revolving pistols, but, USFA was making such things as the Flat Top Target, which was, once upon a time, high on my to-do list.

The resurrection of the Python, and subsequent user reports, have me hoping to see a similarly-resurrected Colt New Frontier.

S&W Bicycle revolver, but .32 S&W Long, rather than the weaker .32 S&W, as were the originals.

Any of the S&W revolvers, chambered in .32 H&R, would be nice to see, again, especially the stainless-steel J-Frames. I managed to source two Models 631, hers and then his, with 2” barrels, without the holes that makes their souls leak, but at least one spare would be good to have.
