the CZ 75 in the hand, or the SA-35 in the bush?

i'm telling ya, peoples, them darn LGS are terrible places.

first, i am happy to say i got 100 rds of .38 special, the 1st i've seen lately. very good, but then...

i, of course, went looking through the display cases (which i know better, but who can resist) and there was a beautiful brand new CZ-75, black and wonderful. i checked it out - trigger pull felt real good. and it felt good overall, just as i have been reading about them. Really, really liked it. and i have the funds for it.

but the problem is the SA-35. the other store in this town is a Springfield dealer and i gave him my name to call when the SA-35 came in. Now, this dealer, he won't have any problem selling the SA-35 if i tell him to take my name off the list. i'm not worried about putting him a "bad place" or anything. no, what i am worried about is putting myself in a bad place!

your opinions: should i just go ahead and get the CZ? of course, all will say yes, yes, yes.
go ahead, empower me.

i'm watching a video of hitchcok 45 shooting a cz: the recoil looks really sweet.

You even handled the SA35 ? compare the build quality and the dynamic handling qualities for you in the LGS in a safe manner. Then compare prices remembering SA is an American Company and from what is the latest news the components are also made in USA for the SA. CZ are good folks too , I think the customer service tilts toward SA .

i'm having a heck of a time getting my computer to act right.

but, no, i didn't make clear. i have not seen or handed the Sa-35. none have arrived in town yet. the sa-35 is supposed to show up "sometime this month". the Cz is right here, staring me in the face, so to speak. so, CZ in the hand, or Sa-35 in the bush?

who am i kidding, i'm going to grab the CZ.

and then i might just buy the springfield too. come on, talk sense to me.

CZ: proven, robust, great ergos, nice bore axis, lots of aftermarket support, has USA facilities, Czech Republic is a great pro-2a parent country that needs all the support they can get.

Springfield still has a bad taste in my mouth that hasn't wore off yet.

Sometimes you gotta get both. I wouldn’t grab an Hi Power til they get a little time with shooters. Read the reviews but who knows where it will go. Good service is great until you have to use it. Get the CZ then watch how the SA35 turns out. Then grab one.

yes, that sounds sensible. darn you.

I started out with a BHP, liked it didn't fall in love with the thing. Bought a cheap surplus CZ 75 pre B to try out.
Now have about a dozen CZs of various flavors and always looking to expand.

CZ has a pretty good aftermarket support and really shine with trigger work.
That clapped out old pre B now has a SA trigger that is better than most 1911s.

By 1982 I had fired a number of BHP35s and sold one.

In 1982 BHP 35 was still being made and relatively cheap in Europe.

….and I bought and still have a CZ75

I would like a SA35 myself but if only one … we’ll you see how I decided that almost four decades back

I have the best of both worlds in that I have a CZ P01 and a Browning Hi-Power MkII. Decent trigger on the P01 and feels like a mini-HP in my smaller size hand. My MkII has always been a perfect grip design for me along with having great fixed sights, a well designed ambi safety, and a super nice trigger right out of the box.

Buy the CZ now and wait for the SA 35 to be out for a while to see how well this particular HP fares in the real world.

I just bought the CZ75B Omega Convertible and I love it. Got a great deal on it and took the plunge. But that doesn’t mean they isn’t room for an SA35 next to it in the safe. If it’s made as well as their 1911s it’s a no brainer!

The SA-35 looks like it will be a winner, however, the CZ75 already is...its a product improved Hi-Power. If nostalgia is playing a role, then the SA-35 is the way to go. Not ever handling a Hi-Power, or the Springfield copy, my two cents may not amount to much, but I will say this, I wouldn't at all be heartbroken over trading in all my autoloaders for their CZ counterparts. The CZ75 is just a flat out fantastic 9mm, the CZ97 is an amazing 45. I'd like to see the 97 hold a couple more rounds, but I wouldn't feel bad trading in my 1911 for one....and I love 1911's. The Rami is a touch chunky for a compact, but its a sweet shooter. They're kinda addictive......

I didn't have a favorite semi until a couple of months ago when I bought a CZ-75-D Omega Comvertable. I knew I liked the gun, even before I fired it, but after one trip to the range, I was sold. That thing makes me look like I know what I'm doing. I liked it so much I went back and bought a 75-D PCR, to use as a carry gun. Yea...I like those CZ's.

CZ-75-D Omega Convertable. (That's a moughful, ain't it?) Sorry for the fuzzy picture. I need to redo it.

But I'll have my eye out for a SA-35 anyway. I think I can squeeze one more into the safe. What's one more 9mm?
