A while back I bought a Simply Rugged Sourdough pancake holster to fit my Ruger new model flattop blackhawk in 44 spl. I thought I'd share a bit about it in case others were considering a similar holster for a large gun.
I opted for the Oxblood color, and for a very reasonable charge, border stamping. I think that border stamping really sets the holster off. And the color, classic elegance is the only way I can describe it.
For $20, I added inside the waistband loops. I figured it would be uncomfortable but I'd give it a go. How wrong I was. It is very comfortable IWB. It stays at the correct angle and doesn't move around.
It's very comfortable outside the waistband as well. The ride height and angle are perfect for me. I wear most guns at the 3:00, maybe 3:30 position.
Overall I'm very pleased with the quality, and the comfort. Not to mention the appearance. It protects the gun very well and retainment is good without a strap. A strap was an option however if someone wants it.
Thanks for looking.
