You guys are harvesting some nice game animals.
Congratulations to all of you guys and the rest enjoy yourselves and be safe.

Had a really good duck hunt this morning. Again with my buddy Jim, great mixed bag of mallards, greenwing teal, gadwall, a spoonie.... And this bonus on a single drake mallard that came in when it was my turn to shoot. First banded duck I've shot in 15 years!

I just love watching the Dog work. If I could teach her to shoot a shotgun She wouldn't need me at all.

Opening week of Bow season here in NW FL and a little eight walked 30 yards in front of me.

Opening day today. I was planning on holding out for a buck, but when these two does came trotting through I couldn’t resist taking a double. They are loaded with fat. They must be gorging themselves on the few unharvested corn fields that still remain in the area. Going back out tomorrow with “more restraint”. Well, unless a couple more of these gals happen by.

Opening day (gun) was today. I needed to be home and that’s not a complaint, I’m taking next week off to get in some stands. I did get a button buck that was big enough to fool me last weekend with a muzzleloader. I’m usually pretty good at judging them (doe vs yearling doe vs button buck), but this guy was crazy tall for a youngster and his butt was hidden behind a tree limb. So I couldn’t see if he had rounded vs square muscles. Looked for all the world like a mature doe at 80 yards.
Hopefully I’ll get pictures worth posting. Until then, happy to be on the board.

This was on Illinois firearms season opener.

Plenty of venison in y'alls' freezers!

Called in a small coyote tonight. He wasn’t quite as far away as I thought and my first shot just barely knocked hair off the top of his shoulders. He took off at the shot and my buddy put a bullet through both of his back legs. He stopped running when that happened and I flipped his lights off. Roughly 200 yards and the rifle is a 6.5 Creedmoor. So far, it’s been just pigs and coyotes for me this year. I’ll start trying to kill a deer in earnest next week.

My nephew took this 6 point yesterday at 125 yards with his 243.

This weekend was youth gun season and Cooper was able to make a good shot on this doe at around 50 yards. She was quartering away and he was shooting a Marlin 1894 .44 magnum loaded with a 315 grain hardcast lead bullet with a gascheck,sitting on top of 19 grains of H110. The bullet entered at her last rib and punched through her offside shoulder. She went around 50 yards after the shot.

Seen a nice big 8 point on the way back to the house about 1/2 an hour ago.

Shot another doe at 4:15pm didn't have my phone for pics. So I took some back at my brother's place. Couldn't find the other gamble, by the time we found it it was dark out.

Congratulations. You guys are really "makin' meat" this season.

We could of shot atleast twelve deer since Saturday.
Tomorrow we will cut two of them up then Thursday go back out.

We might go out early tomorrow and see what happens before we start butchering what we have.
We only have three gambles on our meat pole set up soft is butcher time.
We have all the proccering equipment so it it quick& easy.
Grinder, slicer, two dehydrators for venison Jerry and vacuum sealer.
We have processing deer down.

At 63 & 66 we consider the drag out before we shoot a deer. It has to be a flat drag or a down hill drag.
My brother had a work place accident and had two disc in his back that got shattered and is according to his doctor 87% disabled so the drag out is our main concern before we shoot a deer.
There has been a lot of opportunities to shoot a bunch of deer, but they have to be an easy drag out.

I was bow hunting for deer, but this came out and they are pretty few and far between around here, and they are delicious. Just 20 yards.

I know that feeling' I have passed up multiple shots this year for that very reason.

Yesterday. There's a herd of elk in that picture.

Had two little ones close by this morning. Then seen one large doe and then three large does.
No shot opportunity on any of the big ones.
