Putting a little more power in a $15.00 Daisy

Is there a better trigger for a 1938 RR?
I just had to beat the trigger assembly out of a RR I'm working on because it half cocked and wouldn't shoot or fully cock.
The bear trap latched and I couldn't do anything with it, so I basically had to break it apart to get it out, bummer.

Shane may have been working on one, not sure. Best to remove the bear (crap) trap unless young shooters are involved.
The reason for a bear trap trigger jam is the gun wasn't cocked all the way - this short youtube vid explains.

Yea I will have to ask Shane about that.
What happened was I put an aluminum plug in the piston assy to keep the sides stiff and I put it to far back towards the sear .
This would not allow the cocking lever to move all the way to full cock position.
So at that point the gun was between a rock and a hard place, it wouldn't fully cock nor would it shoot .
I had to completely destroy the trigger assy. to get it out.
I have moved the plug to a better position and it is going to fully cock now, just got to get a trigger and give it a try.

Call Daisy @1-479-636-1200 option 1 during normal business hours (Arkansas).

What you need to do is figure out what parts you want to order - the info is in these Parts Diagrams ( not current) - and make a list in the following order:
Model# of gun (eg. Model 1938B)
Part# (eg. #169751-000)
Description (eg.Trigger Assembly)
Quantity (eg. 2)
Price (eg. $4.00 ea.) - this may vary, just confirm.

Verify that everything on your order is in-stock - otherwise they will hold your order until everything is ready to ship!

Give shipping/billing info & payment method, then thank the nice Daisy lady and wait for the Big Brown Truck (or what ever).

In my haste to fire off the above and getback to college football ("GO Bucks"), I forgot to mention the quickest, cheapest and fastest way to get parts -

"Wally World" - for $15 or $25 bucks go in and buy a spare gun or two! They should be practically giving them away in the coming weeks.

Not only do you have a cache of spare parts, but you also have guns to screw around with - without destroying your descent guns.
(Sometimes our experiments don't always go as anticipated - "Face it Flounder you F**KED UP!!")

I just cut the bear trap off at the front stop, where it's bent over .
Or should I say was bent over.
Should I remove the springs?

I cut it at door number three !
Only I cut it at an angle to remove all the bear teeth .
I will ask my friend if he wants a lighter trigger pull, if he does I will remove the spring.

Hi there everyone. I've been reading through this thread for a while now. I thought i created an acct a while back but, now I have one. I really enjoy the comments and conversations each share.
