He should know better

I have many airguns. I have many firearms. I have a couple Airsoft guns and I have worked with a few nail guns you know what they all have in common. “I DON’T POINT THEM AT PEOPLE AND OR SCREW AROUND WITH ANY OF THEM!! SMH. Sigh.

Lord I find myself practicing trigger discipline with Windex for God’s sake.

So for anybody reading this/lurking/new etc. . Don’t point ANYTHING that is capable of sending a projectile out at anything you are not willing to kill, maim or destroy!!!!!

Sounds like a cover story to me. Even a Glock on the shelf would not normally be loaded. There is a lot more here than meets the eye.
This.
So , if the prank had gone according to plan the gun shop guy would have shot his buddy in the face with a BB?

I’d hate to be that guy’s defense attorney.
And this.

Gun shop owner keeps loaded Glocks on his shelves. Doubt it. Gun shop owner believes he picked up a bb gun in the mix of apparently loaded Glocks and fires it at someone's face.

This is such a crock of crap. I've heard people sticking up for this guy say that a bb gun Glock feels similar in weight to a fully loaded real Glock. Nope. His defense is asinine.

Pranks and practical jokes usually sound cool in the player's mind but are also usually not cool to the victim.

Ask Alec.

Sounds like the name of a new practical joker sit com.

I can say that at least one brand of BB gun glock is very scary close to the look and feel of a real deal glock, but a seasoned shooter or somebody who is in the business would surely know the difference. All that aside, shoot your buddy in the face with a BB gun, as a prank? Give me a break. If you're dumb enough to make that mistake you should stand ready as a man to face the full force of the law for being so stupid, even if it wasn't your intention, which in this case seems doubtful.....

My Glock BB gun is pretty darn identical. No excuse for shooting someone but under certain circumstances, there’s a tiny little minute slim chance a person could think it’s a G19. Still shouldn’t point a BB gun or any gun at anybody.

They’re pretty darn close. These new BB guns are so realistic it’s of hard to find the BB gun sometimes

Agreed. My brother was messing around with a G19-BB and it felt more like a real G19 than my G44 .22lr. The G44 feels like a BB gun to me, but I would never break safety protocol, I don't care if it's a plugged non operational revolutionary war era replica musket, you don't point guns at people, which we all know. As did the owner of the gun shop most likely.

He should win himself a lengthy stay at the gray bar.......

Ive seen a few that unless I actually LOOKED at them I wouldnt be able to tell the difference even on initial pickup.

The only way I can see it being an ACTUAL prank is that it was supposed to be an unloaded (unprojectiled?) "bb" gun with just co2 (or if thinking it was airsoft, propane) loaded, and he was just expecting it to make noise.

I like practical jokes, but if the other guy aint laughing at the end of them you done goofed, and I honestly cant see how pointing ANY gun at a person's face is funny.

Placing another in fear of imminent bodily harm is assault in most places, and despicable without regard to location. Pointing what appears to be a gun has resulted in the death of the pointer on more than one occasion, regardless of the nature of the gun-like object. Play stupid games...

Reading the headline first, I thought the "prank" was an employee doing a fake robbery with a BB gun and getting shot with a real gun. The story is so much worse. There should never be an instance where you point a weapon at someone (minus self defense) real or not. I don't even point a cap gun at another person. That is how bad habits form.

Years ago a guy I know shot his sister in law in the eyeball with a suction cup toy dart gun. The suction cup part of the dart had fallen off, and the plastic body of the dart was shot into her eye. The shooter had the balls to try to sue the toy company. I stopped being friends with the "shooter" as I scolded him and told him THAT is why you never point a gun at anyone at anytime unless you plan to kill them, toy - BBGgun or otherwise. I felt it was chicken **** to try to sue the toy company for user negligence and had a huge issue with his plan to skirt responsibility. The woman is blind in one eye and not sure how any of it turned out.

In this case, the poor dead guy was the butt of the joke from a dumbass that though faking shooting at someone is funny. Throw the book at this dummy. So sad for someone that couldn't consent to the "joke" is now dead. How does this dumbass even own a gun, let alone a gun shop.

Mike
