I bought one Wednesday. I haven't shot it yet but I too think it is solid. The web reviews are positive.

I've owned a couple of them over the years, but they were older, blue ones, with wood grips. Both were very nice guns. Can't help you with any of the newer SS stuff.

I bought a Tracker in .22lr a few years ago to scope & hunt small game. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough, it was terribly inaccurate and Taurus service sucked. Traded it at a loss for 10-22 with Choate folding stock.

Shot one last week.
Great gun, solid and reliable.
I shot 6 shots 2" group at 18 meters. Standing, DA, 38 spl.

My experience with Taurus has been poor. Inconsistent quality coupled with poor customer service. I sold all my Taurus handguns for this reason.

I had a Tracker that was a 22lr/22mag convertible. Swapping the cylinders worked very well. Eventually I traded it away because the trigger was too stiff. Other than that, it was reliable, and as accurate as any other decent 4" medium-framed revolver (meaning more accurate than I am).
I think that the Taurus 44 special I had was also on the same frame. It was a pretty good revolver, but when I got a Rossi 720 with a super-smooth trigger, I knew I would never shoot it again.
Those were both NiB and purchased less than ten years ago.

The Taurus® TRACKER™ is an EXCELLENT firearm in all respects. I own two from 2012, a 425 4" 41 Mag and a 992 22LR/22Mag. I will not hesitate to buy more.

Yup!“Handfun”? I take it you like it then.
I regret selling mine. I didn't shoot it enough to hang on to it I guess. Mine was a .17HMR with the discontinued 8 7/8" barrel. It was super accurate. Amish neighbor enjoys it now....sold it with 12 boxes of ammo in new condition for $400..... what a fool,eh!

I had a blued Tracker in 44 mag. I shot a few full power 44 mags from it but decided it made a better midrange 44 revolver. So that was what I shot most. A lead 240gr bullet at around 1000fps. Then I sold it and really wish I hadn't. I would like a new one but the BBQ paint finish they use now is a turn off to me. If I found for the right price I would still buy it. I never cared for the porting. Like the other poster said they get dirty. You don't have a 4" gun you have a 3" gun and they say don't shoot shot loads in them.
I could easily overlook the finish if they would get rid of the ports and run the rifled barrel all the way to the end of the barrel shroud.
But the gun was a decent shooter. And it was fun. Like a hot loaded 44 Special. Lots of thump on the receiving end.

I've got one like the top revolver Haywood has pictured. I really like it. The only thing I'd change is the florescent tape on the front sight.

I bought a .44 Tracker this past spring some time. Older one with a deep blue finish. I conceived of it as something I could load up and shoot hotter .44 Special rounds than is wise to shoot through my Charter Bulldog. Fun for that, not so much fun for me with real Magnum loads.
I painted my sight white.
I clean the ports with Flitz. Also the cylinder area. I’m a clean freak. People say Flitz isn’t good to use but I’ve been using it on every stainless gun I have since at least 1978 with no problems. Back in the day there were many camp weekends that were 600 round weekends.
