Dillon 550B worth used?

personally, when I look at used product values, I'd take the new price minus 20%. others have other opinions to be sure.

A few years ago I sent mine back to Dillon for a cleaning and a rebuild. It was tired but working great. It was around $65.00 I think. It came back packed in Dillon box looking brand new and even repainted. I'd consider doing that and then asking full price of a new unit for totally refurbished press and 100% for all accessories. Then say you will take best offer. I tried to get a set of dies from Dillon and was told I would have over a year's wait. Realize a buyer may not want every thing you have. You may have to pull something out and sell it separately, but that should be fairly easy. Just my thoughts.

They generally bring 80% of new price, unless it’s a panic run period and the limit is how nuts people have gotten.

After Obama was re-elected and sandy hook, I sold a 650 on eBay for over $1800…it took at least two people wanting it, to get the price that high.

I bought my 550 (with 45 acp dies) 2-3 years ago for $350 used. I was happy. It, my 2 SDs and my Lyman Spartan keep me happily reloading.

Well then you would need to include all the brass and bullets.
How many offers have you received on it from this post?

If its in good condition I've seen Dillon stuff sell for 75% or more of new price. With the shortages I would expect even more. Dillon holds its value really well.

80% of the new price is kind of the standard for Dillons. Make sure you include all the bling..add on 80% of the strong mount, bullet tray, roller handle, etc, if so equipped. Last year it was bumping 100% of new because of lack of inventory, but back down to the normal. Also, depending on what you have with it, some caliber conversions are worth well over the current cost because of availability, or if discontinued.

Dillons don't lose value, as the 100% NO BS warranty goes with it.

I would agree with the 80% advice, and as someone already stated, don't forget about the add-ons.....don't give 'em away...

I wouldn't even have to think if I found one for that price I'd be on it. I'd think you could get 80% of new for the press and maybe 75-80% for the rest. They hold their value.
