square grip
adjustable rear sight
serial number K 90194

no model number pinned and recessed

I have a blued revolver and I would like to know the date of manufacture and the model designation. Thank you.
Info;

Flat grip frame and factory grips
6 cylinder
Fixed front sight with a flat silver insert and a low profile target adjustable rear
Serial number 655517, it appears on the butt of the grip and on the face of the cylinder
The numbers on and under the crane are 9333

Your revolver seems to have been shipped in 1969. Sounds like a really nice revolver.
Edit to correct the date.
In reality it comes back as 1950. I apologize for the mistake. I hope it didn't cause you any problems. Its still a really nice revolver lol.

Just checked and it's definitely AFE.

Thanks for the serial number look-up for the Model 649!

I find 1950 for that K38 Masterpiece, not 1969. That is right around the time that they were changing barrel profiles so that all calibers weighed the same, so you might have a Masterpiece or a Heavy Masterpiece. If you have a kitchen scale, does it weigh 36 ounces or 38 1/2?

I came into a .32 Long, SN 543502. Model 77-70. Any ideas? I really don't don't know much about S&W revolvers.

Where did you get the Model number from? A Model 77 is an air rifle. More information and a picture would help a lot.

Vintage model 36 pre dash. I was lucky enough to find this little guy and the more I research it, it seems to be a pretty early model in excellent condition. Has the flat latch cylinder ejector piece which I know dates it back to an early model. My biggest question is the 783 on the inside of the frame where you would usually see MOD 36. What does this number represent?? Also, when was this manufactured? Any idea of value?

Thank you in advance

Made around 1954 back when Smith and Wessons had names like "Chiefs Special", not soulless model numbers.
The 783 is a fitting number used to keep parts together at the factory. No significance after it was assembled, serial numbered, and sold.
I can't guess a dollar value, but an early one with flat latch and small trigger guard is definitely of interest to S&W People.

I'm not seeing the prefix ABB in my books. I know the 686 no dash was only made from 1980 to 1985. If I had to guess I would say it's a 1982 or 1983 but that's just a guess from the other prefixes around it. It's possible your gun is part of a special run, email S&W and they can tell you. Years ago I bought a M640 and couldn't find they year of shipping. S&W told me it was part of a special run in 1976.

Sorry I can't tell you for sure.

Looking for a mfg date on a Model 66 no dash with a serial number 6K6520X. Thanks!

It isn't an air rifle! It is a 32 Long! On the butt is the serial #543502. Inside the cylinder and on the bottom of the barrel is the model #77 70.

You have a .32 Hand Ejector OR a .32 Regulation Police (They were serial numbered in the same series so it would take pictures to say which.) made soon after WWII, 1946 or 1947.
77 70 is not a model number. What you see is a fitting number used only to keep unfinished parts together at the factory.
S&W did not assign model numbers until 1957 when that gun became a Model 30 or Model 31.

Thank you! I cant seem to figure out how to do pictures. It has a small, round grip if that makes a difference
