NEW FN Hi Powers!!!

Here's hoping this new and improved "Higher-Power" hits the ground running and sales take off as soon as it hits the supply chain! Also that it's at an affordable price for those of us who would love to add another genuine FN Hi-Power to our gun collections!

Doubt it’s the new 1911 unless they significantly improve the trigger.

And add a beaver tail, maybe better safeties.

And make it lighter, bring back the aluminum frame.

Also since I’m just spitting in the wind, give me a 4” barrel, aluminum frame (no heavier than 36 oz loaded) with a beaver tail and an improved trigger…

Oh, wait, I already have a EDC X9, never mind.

But really, that’s cool FN is back in the game, it’s an iconic and solid pistol even if mine left me a scar on the web of my hand.

Agreed, don't think my Staccato C2 or SAO Legion are going anywhere, but I am curious to see one of these. And hey, looks like they forgot the mag disconnect feature. :p

If true, I'm out as well.

Ford called this a Mustang. It had a lot of plastic too

Ironically enough... though it was an ugly ride.... the way the unibody and front suspension were engineered were revolutionary.

the way that FDE one looks sure makes me think it's a polymer.
I may have to spend good money on a plastic .40s&w high power

I'm not sold on this. The main draw of the hp for my are the visual cues, the curves and sleekness. This one has the angularity of the arcus copy of the hp, and sigs, neither of which blow my skirt up.

Also, fn has traditionally been, in my opinion, notoriously expensive.

I wish them well, but as of right now, I don't think they will be getting any of my money. Springfield or tisas might though.......

Wonder what a Longthorne costs?
Upgraded version.
TGS did a Youtube vid on it

Wow... thats a pretty "high" retail price. Almost Colt Python territory. They look nice but not that nice. Might be worth it to me if it was 40 or 357sig. 9mm... probably not....unless it was capable of multiple calibers.

still looks like a very nice pistol though. Not really a high power but its nice. I am not really looking at these as a Hi-power but just a new quality pistol from FN.

(whispering to the Gun Prices Gods) Please drive BHP prices down. Please drive BHP prices down. Please drive BHP prices down.

Yeah.. thats right. This new High Power lookes like it solves a lot of the traditional Hi-powers issues. Looks like it has a removable beavertail as well. It should help with availability of the springfields and old clunky Hi-powers.

their shotguns start around 29k USD So I would imagine it wont be anywhere near the 500 dollars people think a new gun should sell for.

Doesn't look like 509 mags to me.

This seems more like an all new gun vs a traditional HP. Doesn't seem like much, if any, will be cross compatible.

The Springfield seems a lot closer to a traditional HP with alleged cross compatibility.

Agreed, after looking over the FN website, it looks to be HiPower in look/lines only. Maybe that's why they are referring to it as "High Power," to differentiate from the iconic.

I've definitely cooled off after looking at their website. If they came out with a 40S&W with optics cut, I would consider. I'm going to want to carry it, and it would be relegated to winter time, due to it's weight and size. My G48 is going to be hard to displace for what it does for everyday carry in size, weight, capacity and reliability. But I would like to have a nice newly minted svelt HiPower in 40 S&W for winter carry.

Is that a Detective High Power? No? Come back when is Detective High Power.

I believe it's just Hi-Power when Browning makes it, and High Power when FN does.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, High Power is the iconic name. They changed it to Hi Power in the 50’s when the Browning brand was pushed to the front in order to differentiate between the pistol and Browning’s High Power rifle line.
