Yes, Impact 737 and Matrix chassis. You should be able to put the night vision bridge on without touching the barrel. My guess is the action isn't sitting in the chassis quite right.

I like the reticle better, I like the numbering/hashmarks on the elevation turret, as I can use it without glasses. I'm a sucker for something new?

Oh, and I like that the power ring goes counter clockwise to increase magnification, unlike my PST Gen II, which I really like, but it is limiting if using a throw lever which can get in the way of the bolt. The way I have the throw lever on my Gen II on the Vudoo right now I can't go over 15X without interfering with the bolt throw. Not catastrophic, I don't really need to go over 15X anyway, but would like the option. I guess I could play with it some, but I'm rambling.

Double checked zero and got nubers after work, still need to load more rounds for Saturdays Match.

My PRS buddy Jeff needed to check zero and get velocities today, since he couldn’t go yesterday. I brought my rifle and shot three rounds.

My group from yesterday is top left, my three shots today are top right. (Shot #2 is high/right, that was me). Jeff shot the lower targets. I shoot better groups, he generally beats me at PRS matches.

The Zeiss LRP is great at the range, I'm excited to try it at a match.The eye box is much more forgiving then the Kahles on Jeff's rifle, both have great glass.

Getting ready

Jeff finished 8th and I finished 13th out of 35 shooters. I dropped six points on the KYL rack when I tried for the fourth plate, the wind picked up, and blew me off right a couple of tenths. Sigh, those six points would have helped. I knew the fourth and fifth plates would be iffy, but felt so good on the first three I tried it, should have stopped. Yes, we did it old school, you miss, you get a zero. Only cleaned one stage, but it sure felt good. Shot well overall, one mental mistake on a 13 point stage that cost me four points, and I was hammering them, dang it. Other loss of points were unsteady misses and timing out.

The Zeiss is real nice, got it dialed in and everything was crisp and clear. Conditions were not real tough, looking forward to using it in tough conditions to see what it can really do on a tough day. The white on the turret is flat off white, so not as easy to see without glasses as I had hoped/expected, but overall I am glad I bought it (Breathes sigh of relief) ) Marked it already shoving it against a post, so I don't have to worry about that now, it has a little love mark.

After the chassis/stock experiments I am back with the Matrix for two matches now and it's my thing, love it. The Impact action is doing nothing but getting slicker with use, and it just simply works, run it slow, run it fast, it doesn't care, it just feeds, fires, and ejects flawlessly. To remind folks, I am using a 10 round AICS mag with the Primal Rights Dasher kit, and an MDT 12 Rd Dasher mag, both are great.

The older gentlemen shooting left handed put his foot on the platform because he was hanging off left handed, but we all said it would be fine, he was struggling. (Older, heh, five years younger than me) He's running a left handed Impact.

On this stage we shot one shot each from eight positions. You had a large diamond or a small circle to shoot at, and had to declare which, large is one point, small is two points. You could switch once during the run, had to announce it, but no more, so the smart thing was to start with the small circle, or at least we thought so, Jeff got a 14 and I got a 10 shooting the small circle (timed out in the sixth spot, got my bag in there too low). A couple of guys just stayed with the large diamond and took the easy points.


I cleaned this stage with the road barrier. Shoot from the five green spots, 10" plate with no paint at 400 yards.

I forgot to mention, the clicks on the Zeiss are good, but not great, certainly not alpha dog good, the clicks on Jeff's Kahles are superb, loud, positive, crisp. The Zeiss isn't bad, but for the money........I'll play with some scope turrets soon and see where I think it falls among the scopes I have. Lots to do today, between showers.

I have this LeoFoto LS-323C, it's pretty good, my buddy bought this INNOREL RT90C, and it is heavier and more stable in the wind. I may get one and let my wife have the LeoFoto.

Another vote for use a bag on the tripod instead of the Hog Saddle.

I’ve missed two PRS matches and an NRL-22 match, been moving for three weeks, but we’re mostly settled in now, so hope to have new pics soon.

I dropped the gas grill off the trailer and broke it this evening, wife isn’t happy.

I told her it committed suicide, but she didn’t buy it, so I had to fess up, simply got in a hurry, messed up.

Looong day today, started at 3:00 am.
