SDS Imports BLP M12PT Bullpup

Finally got a chance to try mine. Like the way it handles and shoots, but mine wouldn't cycle "low brass" loads -- tried 1 oz #6 and 1-1/8 oz #7.5 Shot great, but in twenty-five rounds only had once where I got two consucetiveshots to fire -- rounds number 23&24, It will be lots of fun if I can get this sorted. Didn't bring any "high brass" loads.

Is there a way to adjust the gas system? What passes for a manual that came with it is pretty useless.

I had to buy a third party 3-postion regulator for my Siaga to shoot such loads. I'm willing to spend a bit to buy something to shoot the cheapest ammo as its more than good enough for my purposes. It'll be a lot less fun if I have to buy ~25-50% more expensive ammo to get it to work.

Similar issues the first time I ran it. I went back out with 3" 1400FPS high brass. My shoulder took a beating but after about 40 shells I was able to cycle a full 5 mag of 2.75 1250s. Seems like the spring just needs to be broken in. It doesn't really like the 3in shells. FWIW.

This lil thing is all the fun I expected. I just need to find an outdoor range where I can really run it. And a 19 rd mag.

Any ideas on adding a flashlight?

I just sent mine back to SDS, they sent me a pre-paid shipping label so I can't complain. Those light loads started to work after I'd shot a box of heavier loads, unfortunately I didn't have very many of them. Using what I could find, including "Sterling" imported from Turkey I started having all kinds of failures -- stove-pipes, double feeds, light primer hits, so I contacted them and they had me send it back. We'll see how it turns out. Love the way it handles and shoots, but unless they can fix it, its not fit for any purpose.

The Chinese must have messed something up in their reverse engineering, because my Saiga has almost no recoil at all. It’s more like shooting a 9mm PCC than a 12 gauge!

It has an adjustable gas block which I imagine would reduce the recoil if I messed with it. I prefer reliability over a range of shells vs soft shooting. Also putting a longer Magpul Zhukov helps as well. The oem stock is pretty short.

I want to follow up with my SDS BP12 returned to SDS for extraction failures and light primer hits. Took about 5 weeks to get it turned around, and took me about another week to get out to try it but result is positive. Three brands that would not go three rounds without a failure all worked perfectly after the repair. SDS paid the shipping both ways and fixed it. Faster would have been better but I give them high marks for being responsive and effective with the repair. I wish they had included a description of the work, but I am very happy now.

I want to follow up to my follow up.

Since they returned it from repair I have been extremely happy with it. It had been 100% reliable with every type of ammo I could find from 1 oz #9 to 3" 00 buck (althoug I only shot a few of these monsters) for a bit over 500 rounds blasting steel plates until last time out.

Unfortunately the "Extractor Spring Pin" (#12 on the parts diagram) broke making it useless except as a single shot. Contacted their customer support again, they were very responsive, but seems my one-year warranty had run out (they didn't extend it for the ~5 weeks they had it for repair) Shouldn't be a problem I'll just buy the part, right?

Let this serve as a warning to anyone looking to buy one of the Turkish shotgun brands. This is what I received from them, seems spare parts are unobtainium:

We no longer import the M12 so if the part is not listed on the website it cannot be sold either. We have to request warranties from our manufacturer and can only do so if the customer has a receipt that is within warranty. There is nothing I can do.

It shouldn't be too difficult to fabricate a replacement part, but if you are not an accomplished gun mechanic, you should avoid these brands! The only parts listed on the web site he refers to are for the Tisas 1911.
