Some nice burled cocobolo would go great with the red color.

It's a dense, reddish-brown tropical hardwood with a high specific gravity, often over 1.00...meaning it may not even float in water.

It works well and can be finished to a very smooth finish, and the natural oils in the wood make it an excellent choice for a long lasting wood that won't absorb water.

Maple stained electric blue.

Absolutely. The gun is already not the "correct" color so go all out. Blue and Teal mesh with orange or yellow very well. I suggest blues to go with camel/copper colors quite often and the customers think im crazy until i show em the right one. We used to have an electric blue dye for matching stains but rarely used it.

Ebony with a lot of figure would be nice. Or buffalo horn!

Desert Ironwood might be neat, depending on how it is finished out and its color. I have a couple blocks that are pretty orange.

I have the gray wrangler with a polished stainless birdshead grip and mahogany grips. But not just any mahogany; its of the Cuban variety, pre-1940s embargo. Used to be bleachers in a gymnasium in northern MO.

Another option could be purpleheart. I would need to see the copper and wood in person to make that decision though.

Other options would include canvas micarta, guitar acrylic pickguard, or mastodon tooth.

I agree with the majority.....either stick with Black or go Vibrant Red. Birdseye or plain maple stained with Keda Red dye would be my first choice..

I don't remember what I voted for, but I'd change my vote to those that you made for him. I got rid of the Wrangler I picked up, but I'd get another one if I had access to grips like that. Beautiful work.

Excellent choice! When you said copper wrangler, i thought you were talking about one of the distributor runs made in an actual bright copper color, not the bronze one.

good distinction. I was told it was the copper by the owner (I failed to check on terms), but bronze it is. Thanks. The color with bronze is growing on me. But I definitely love the grain of bubinga.

Very kind. Thanks.

I haven’t shot the wrangler, but holding it I can’t say I’d buy one. If I didn’t have a single six and the price was right, I’d get one. But going from single six to wrangle…not so much.

Yes it has beautiful figure! Especially when not stained dark.

I wanted the bronze wrangler but settled for the gray one. Im planing on duracoating it at some point to a color that contrasts more with the polished stainless grip.
