New US Ammunition Plants Coming

What primers will all these new ammo plants use?
Norma and Fiocci both make their own primers in their overseas factories, so likely they would supply the facilities here. No idea on Ammo-Inc. My guess would be they are subject to the same limitations as everyone else with all the demand for our few domestic manufacturers.

i'm seeing much Norma ammunition at Academy and Atwoods.

"With operations in 12 different countries, Swiss-based RUAG Ammotec develops and produces high-end ammunition for sports shooters, special operations forces, and peace officers worldwide, serving key markets in the military, law enforcement, hunting, and sporting goods sectors. In 2021, Norma Precision Ammunition imported over 400 containers of ammunition from RUAG Ammotec factories in Europe, while also delivering over 30 million cartridges of ammunition made in the U.S."

Ammo inc will be producing their own Primers. seen it in a interview

Actually I'm thinking the ammo and gun manufactures are going to take a hit soon. People have been hoarding ammo and buying a lot of guns the past two years. (If) things get back to near normal I would think people would take a break from buying ammo and start using up some of that hoard. Especially if prices remain high. Some of the ammo manufactures may be laying off soon. A lot of people bought guns in panic soon to realize they really don't need or even don't want one and put them up for sale. Could be a glut of used guns on the market that could dampen new gun sales.
But who knows. I know that I'm going to keep my ammo stash up and my guns where they are. To be better prepared for next time.

Ammo Inc. mentioned above as meaning to make their own primers,
Expansion Industries is said to be setting up for primers in Texarkana.
Sigarms is said to be putting in a primer line in Mississippi.

Are there others?

European companies expanding into the Colonies will likely be bringing in primers from the Old World and other new loaders will be drawing on the pool of WW and Vista primers. Therefore just shifting supplies around.

These plus the other 12 or so mentioned in other threads, they should be giving ammo away pretty soon!!:what::eek:

And everyone can just put away their reloading gear and use their powder to fertilize their roses. Wouldn't that be great? ;)

I'll wait until 9mm goes back to 0.25/rd. before I jump.

NRA rating has been too freely given. Kristen like most political entities are no better than windsocks
True, upstate she was pro gun. As soon as she ran for a statewide office, US senator, and needed downstate votes, like most politicians who will lie for a vote, she flip flopped.

In the interview she atoned for her sins.

What concerns me.... Adding production lines and new factories is a huge expense most companies won't undertake unless they know it will pay off. It appears the manufactures are expecting this shortage and overpricing of ammo to last long enough to recoup the cost. Bad news for us.

Well, if they add much capacity, then there won't be a shortage, and competition will kick in.
We will not see pre-covid prices again, our best hope is for pre-covid plus Covid incentive driven inflation. Which is more than the government admits, just look at the gas pump.

Great to see more ammunition production in the U.S. My last three ammo purchases were Norma.

Wonder who will pick up the slack now that Russian ammunition is not available?

we are talking ounce of metal per 1,000 primers not ounces of gold. Follow the money
