Glade the Anmo is FULL and Walmart not selling much Ammo!!!

NOW WERE ARE THE PRIMERS! game is over Vista!

LGS had 3000 CCI 500 small pistol primers the other day. I bought 1000 for $110. The online prices are around $80 per 1000 and once you add hazmat and shipping I figured it was close.
Everything online is out of stock anyway.

Still notice from the above posts that there seems to be lots of 9 and .223 and .308, but I'm still not finding anybody with revolver ammo in quantity, if at all. Little or no .38, .357.
As for prices, don't expect prices to drop to the good old days. Nothing much ever does. Now in addition to crazy demand, we have supply chain problems and rampant inflation across the board. These days when I find 9mm at about .35/round I buy. With the military's new guns in new calibers, zillions of rounds of 6.8 will start soaking up raw materials even more.

Stopped by Dunhams yesterday. They had plenty of handgun ammo in most calibers. No 38spl jhp. Plenty of 12 and 20 gauge shotgun shells. NO 410 bore. A good bit of rifle ammo in usual calibers but NO 30-30 or 30-06. A good bit of 22lr. 100 rounds of CCI 22lr hollow point for $17, and 300 rounds for $40. I forget what brand. I wont pay those prices for 22lr.
I would like to have a couple more boxes of 30-30, 30-06 and 410 but those are still hard to find in my area and when I do they are high priced.
I have a good stash of ammo and have stopped buying till $ comes down. Well, I may could be talked into buying a box of 38spl jhp if not really bad.

only ammo I “did” buy was .22 and shotgun. Shells have are 100% more expensive and .22’s are 150% more expensive. So, Looking into reloading shells, one component at a time. .22 not buying! NOPE!

remember Walmart $22 for 100 12g target… SAY bye to those days

With gas at +/- $4 a gallon, bacon at $9 a pound, etc. I strongly suspect the days of $1.50 for fifty .22’s is long gone

I still have a few boxes of 325 Federal Auto Match .22’s that I bought for about $15. I’m confident that ship has sailed
I used to have a semi truck that I leased to FedEx. It had two 85 gallon fuel tanks. Today it would cost about $1,000 to fill up. Once.

Think about the cost to ship a truckload of lead ammo across country at 4 1/2 mpg. $1.50 per mile just for fuel

Keep in mind those stores selling ammo didn't get it for the 'old' prices, and they certainly didn't hoard it till now.

Do as you will, but remember how it felt to "I shoulda' bought that when it was available".

It will never go down much, if at all. Shop around, deals happen if you're diligent.

I bought some Hornady .243 Winchester from Academy yesterday. It was expensive but it got me back in the business of killin' hogs and cousin, business is a boomin'.

I was moving some stuff around today and came across an empty Federal 38+P hydroshok box. 10.50 was the price tag. Must have been from way back in the 90's..? o_O
The cost of doing all kinds of business is up these days and, like someone else said, these are the "normal" prices for the new shooters. So they must be glad to see some ammo available.

^That’s why gun guys who say I ain’t buying till ammo returns to 2019 prices are delusional, we live in a different world and higher prices aren’t all about demand.
Nope, Not going for it. Supply and demand. Thats what some of you people said before when there was much less ammo. Less ammo = higher prices.
But, Now. More ammo = lower prices.
I have much ammo now = I'm not so willing.
It's been said " Fools part easily from their money".
I say "Not this fool".

the only ammo I bought in the last 2.5 years was 2 boxes of 10mm HPJ @ $26 each
10 Walmart shotshells 100 pack at $23 each
4 boxes of Walnart .22 CB @ $3-ish each
and THAT’s it! I’m waiting for 1997 prices! ooooh yeah

Remember the last panic, ammo was hard to find and expensive. I didn’t see .22 or .380 for a couple of years.
Then prices came down. They were even giving rebates.
Prices were cheap. I bought a lot of 5.56 for .22 - .27 per round.
Most of the .22 was 3-6 cents per round.
I doubt it will get that cheap again but these things go in cycles. I believe it will at least get reasonable again.

It's going to stay on the shelves at that price.
60 to 70 cents a shot for 38spl, all 223, 380.
The 9mm was kind of okay at 40 cents a shot.
That was just for ball ammo.
If I use currently priced rmr bullets 55gr fmj, single pounds of w748 I bought 2 days ago from brownells dot com, the current price for primers, I'm at like 36 cents a shot. Make that 40 cents a shot if I bought the brass from the scrap yard.

Yes, third visit in a month, today. It needs to stay on shelves at these prices. The sellers should be allowed the summer to sweat if necessary to ease prices at the register.

Oh people were buying it.
Not I.
If they want to buy .223 for $.40-$.70 a pop… have at it. Me and everyone else is paying $100 to fill up the mini-van and $40 for the Prius. Sum it up! I Gots no money to Shoot

seen the price of beef steak! yeah, my beef consumption is1/4 of last year. Use to have a Steak 1-2 times a week. Now, 1st a month, and that’s eating at home

Our Academy has been fairly well stocked for many months.

Are viewers of this topic …o_O,
