I misunderstood. It is the plastic stocks that need reinforcement. I don't know about the wood stocks.I guess I didn't really state my question very well. Do modern Savage rifles with walnut stocks have a tendency to break at the wrist? If there is a history of breakage and people are using arrow shafts and filler to strengthen them then I will go the laminate route.
My father-in law has the Axis with walnut stock (Boyd’s). I’ve purchased Boyd’s walnut stocks for my father-in-law and son for their Savage 10s. (Pic below). No issues at all with any of them.

I replaced the stock on my Axis with a laminate…very happy with it, but I do like the Walnut better.

Actually, if Savage stocks have a failure point, it's usually by that right side safety cut out, and relatively small rear screw contact area.... On the axis I don't think that's an issue though.
No, they don’t have any history of specific failure like that.
One thing, Boyd’s does not sell Walnut “Hardwood” stocks. All their stocks are Laminate. We’re you just meaning the “look”, perhaps. And not a bad thing BTW. The laminate is much stronger than actual Walnut hardwood is. People like solid wood for ascetics. But, in-fact solid wood is barely an upgrade from the cheap factory plastic.
They do offer several walnut options for the Savage Axis classic stock for an extra charge. You can even get it in maple....One thing, Boyd’s does not sell Walnut “Hardwood” stocks. ....
Are you guys certain? Because their homepage says exactly what what I did. I don’t don’t make things up. Maybe they do, but it’s NOT what Boyd’s is known for, and they certainly don’t advertise solid wood.

Yeah, well, maybe you could give some cred to the word of those of us here that have bought several Boyd's rifle stocks.LOL! You can see how it could be misleading? Misleading??...(snip)
Uh, yeah… I can see how someone might might simply take them at their word..

Well, you're wrong on at least the third point, and you're the poorer for it. One presumes that someone who comes here asking for information and opinion gives some weight to the answers they receive, or else they wouldn't waste their time coming here to do that. Because I don't believe that we're wasting our time here responding to those questions, even when we get a response like yours. Why? I don’t know you. You mean nothing in my world. As I’m sure I’m nothing in yours.
