What kind of issues did they have?

Really? Dick's is Anti modern sporting rifle. They declared ARs "weapons of war", broke their contracts with AR manufacturers, removed all Evil Black Rifles from inventory, and actively worked to get an "Assault Rifle Ban" imposed across the country.

My family and I have not done any business with them since.

I'd heard they really gouged folks on ammo during the shortage!
The article linked to another article that said a bunch of downtown Montgomery stores have closed recently. I stopped in Montgomery a few months ago to try to get some food at a Popeye's. There were a bunch of lard-a$$es sitting in there, too lazy to even get up and take our order. We stood there for a few minutes and finally left. If that's the quality of labor force that Dick's had to work with in Montgomery, AL, maybe they gave up.

I'm not a Dick's Sporting Goods fan due to their woke activity, but I happened to walk into the the nearest one to me (about 25 miles) a few months ago (the first time in about 4 years since they made all of the noise about stopping selling guns) and they had a good stock of guns and ammo, and the ammo wasn't any higher than anyone else's that I've noticed, with the exception of Walmart.

Good for them, had not been in one for years until this spring, needed to get my fishing license and it was convenient to go to are dicks since you have to enter it to go into are mail. Figure there not getting the money. On my way out they had a book I can't remember the hole name but it was something like ( how we stood up to gun violence) or some other bs.

Ditto. Besides guns and ammo I used to buy $$$$$ of saltwater fishing stuff there. Good riddance!

My wife and I lived in Montgomery for 4 MISIRABLE years and I can tell you Dick's Sporting Goods was empty 48 weeks per year. The youth soccer, baseball, football, and basketball seasons were the only reason people went there.

The average worker in the greater Montgomery area would work just enough to qualify for their "government money" and income tax refund and then they would party like Rockstar for a few months. My employer would bring them in through a temp service and let them go almost as fast as we trained them due to a poor work ethic. If that is what Dicks had then I understand why they crashed. No employees with any ambition and a piss poor business plan equals death of a store.

I have only been in a Dick's one time in the past 7 years and that was to spend a $25 gift card someone gave me. I did not even bother looking at the shooting sports area as it was almost empty. I found some overpriced fishing tackle that I wanted and made my purchase, after waiting for someone to come to the register and get off their phone. They can close all the stores for all I care.

I bought my 10/22 there when they had dec sales for them. Last gun i bought from them. It took an hour to get the dang gun. I had to watch a video and read some bs paper and sign stuff besides the form to buy a gun.

Shame. I wonder how many stores they would have saved from closing if they still sold firearms? Oh well. Plenty of other places picked up their slack and see profits from keeping guns on the shelf.

Go woke, go broke.

Some Dick's stores still have guns and ammo
