What is the LEAST fun gun you ever fired, one that hurt you

Double Barrel 10 ga. shotgun with a turkey load, subcompact. 380 from an unknown ring of fire brand, and my brothers old Remington 710 in .30-06 Springfield. Each caused pain and soreness in their own way.

Sharps .45/120 Quigley. That curved but plate darn near took my arm off. Thank god I fired the gun off-hand, I can't imagine what it would have felt like shooting from the bench.

Nothing that dramatic but I did manage to sprain the thumb of my shooting hand firing a cylinder of full power .357 in my 17oz Ruger LCR. That was the most painful handgun shooting experience I've done.

In the 80's I known for my flaunting heavy recoil in my rifles and big bore six shooters. I lived in Arizona. Friend had a rifle he wanted to reload for and had a box of shells he wanted me to shoot off for him. So, he could reload them. I thought, huh?.
.458 Winchester, 20 rounds later, I was done. Had a bruise that lasted for weeks.

For me its my EDC Seecamp 380, it bites pretty good, but its the most comfortable handgun to carry in the pocket. My second was my Savage striker bolt action pistol in 308, much pain, sold it to buy a remington xp100 in 221FB, much more pleasant to shoot.

Well, it only bruised me a bit, but a 460 Weatherby I shot years ago is a bit much for me. I don't mind a 416 Rigby, but for just shooting at the range I'll take a 300 Weatherby or smaller, thanks.

I have a little Springfield XDs in 40 S&W that I have nicknamed 'the stinger'. But it drops real nice into a pocket, so I do carry it when needed.

Something about a feg pa-64 and Walther ppk 380 didn't get along with my hands. More aggravating then magnum loads in j frames to me, go figure.

Had some GI 1911s give me some decent cuts between the thumb and pointer. Been bitten by the old style ppks without beaver tails.

Once fired one of those leinad 410 double barrel derringers made of plastic and broken dreams. That wasn't much fun.

My buddy's 416 Remington Mag (Model 70 Winchester). He bought it for an upcoming Africa hunt, and it was shooting almost a foot high at 100 even though he had the scope lowered down as far as it would go. So he asked me to bring it home and shoot it one day after work. He told me that if it shot high for me, to yank the scope off it and shoot it with the iron sights.
So, after work one day, he gave me the rifle and a box of ammo, and I brought it home. My wife and I drove over to the gravel pit, set up a box with a target on it, and I leaned the rifle over the hood of the truck and squeezed off a shot.
That darned thing kicked me so hard it made me dizzy! And just like my buddy said, it hit about a foot above the bullseye.
So just like my buddy asked, I yanked the scope off it, lowered the rear sight all the way down, and even though I was shaking, squeezed off another round. Same thing - about a foot above the bullseye.
Next, I walked down to within about 25 yards of the target. Because it had been raining, and I didn't want to sit down in the mud, I just sort of squatted down and squeezed off another round. That darned thing sat me down in the mud anyway, and it still hit about 2 inches high!
Anyway, long story short - my buddy sent the rifle back to Winchester, they replaced the bent barrel, and sent it back in time for my buddy's upcoming Africa hunt. He took a nice Leopard and several species of African plains game with that obnoxiously hard kicking rifle, but I'm sure not going to buy myself a 416 Rem Mag of any flavor.

At the risk of being labeled a little girly-man....

The Walther PPK/S I had was the most miserable thing in the world to shoot. The slide ripped two furrows in the back of my hand & tossed blood all over the place.
Pretty little gun, but, oh so miserable to shoot.

My Dad used to have this KelTec 9mm pocket gun that felt like I was being stabbed in the hand by a hornet every time I would fire it. He sold it to this young lady at a gun show (yes she had a carry permit) who was elated to find it. We warned her about the sting, but she said she had 2 others and really liked the model, so who knows. Good riddance to it.

1st place winner: a 12 gauge SKB stoked with high base duck loads. A friend from Minnesota gave me a box of waterfowl shells after giving up hunting. I figured I could burn them up for cowboy action shooting practice. Timer goes off, I throw two shells into the chambers and touch off the first barrel. I instantly learned that I had become sloppy with my right thumb position on the tang. Recoil drove the rear of the top lever into the tip of my thumb like a chisel, splitting both flesh and thumbnail to the bone. Practice was canceled for about a month. The duck loads were disassembled for shot and primer conservation.

Honorable Mention: a supposed friend encouraged me to shoot his Bond Derringer loaded with a .410 shell. It would have hurt even without arthritis. One was enough.

Yeah, that FEG had some issues. Cool little gun though, had two of them-- they were a hundred bucks, so why not?

Ruger LCP by far.
Really? They aren't that bad lol. .380 out of LCP size/weight guns is less than even .38 special out of an airweight revolver.. For sure .38 +P is way worse.

That doesn't make micro .380's "fun" per se, but they aren't horrific recoil at all compared to many guns.
