It has been a long time since I shot .22’s

I've started shooting more .22 lately, it's almost more relaxing, little to no recoil, not all that loud. I've started taking at least one .22 with me any time I go to the range, along with whatever rifle or other handguns I take.

My three, a S&W M48-4 revolver (.22 magnum), a S&W M41 and a Ruger 22/45 MkIII.

Those are pretty! ......a 48 like yours would be nice...:D
Thanks. If you do look for a M48, try to find one with the .22LR cylinder, it was offered as an optional accessory. These revolvers aren't cheap, they've become quite collectible. Mine is from 1981, I bought it used a couple of years ago. The M41 is awesome, and they've also become quite collectible. Look for one made prior to 1990 for the best quality and function. They came in 5" and 7" barrels, mine is 7".

I used to try and warm up with a .22 at every range session. Thanks to the scarcity and cost of reloading supplies, my .22 usage isn’t just for warm up anymore. Several times over the past two years rimfire shooting has been the reason for the whole range trip.

Stay safe.

Every range trip my Beretta Model 70S goes with me. Sometimes I will also bring along my Ruger Mk.II for some dedicated target time. If I'm instructing someone who is new to handguns, I will also take a S&W Model 34 along
just to give them something to compare with the semi-autos.

On rare occasion if I'm in the mood for something different, besides the usual line-up, I will bring my SIG Trailside along.

I sometimes find myself teaching people basic handgun shooting when I to to our range. What's my teaching pistol? A S&W model 17 .22 with a 6" barrel. All the basics can be learned with that gun, and everybody loves it. It shoots so accurately, and works so smoothly, they all want one. Several ladies have demanded that their husbands buy one for them, but when the guys find out what it would cost (~$1000 +) they start asking about cheaper options. I don't have much advice for them about that.

If Im just going by myself, I generally only bring .22s these days.

Same here.

And here.

I'm not trying to conserve components or centerfire ammo specifically. Just too lazy to try to find all my brass. Do everything I do with centerfire stuff, only more quietly.

Didn't own a .22 until February. Tired of firing the expensive ammo all the time, so I bought a Ruger Mark IV. Absolutely fun shooting gun. A couple of weeks later, I bought a Bergara B14R Trainer with a Swampfox Patriot 4-16x44 scope. I am hooked.

Jeff olson, that is a very nice collection indeed!

I thought I had a pretty okay collection, and I guess I do.
Still, I am humbled...

Sometimes getting back to the basics just cant be beat, I need to do this more. Today was a bit of range time with the Rossi Plinker and PPK/S.

Excellent.

I love rimfire handguns. I just don't get enough time to shoot them due to pulling long work hours right now.

The last rimfire handgun I dirtied the bore of a couple weeks ago is this one.
