What did you shoot today?

Hi...
My son and I spent yesterday at the two local gun clubs where we have memberships.
Started the morning off at one club to shoot some rifles. I shot my custom Sako .308, my son's Remington 700BDL in .270 and my AR15 in .223Wlyde. My son shot the same .270, his Tikka .308 and one of his AR15s in .223.
Accuracy shooting was pretty much what it has always been with the rifles we shot. Groups(5shots) hovered around 1" size wise at 100yds. My first groups were shot at 50yds and all three rifles left five shot groups with all bullet holes touching. I only shot a few groups with each rifle before the recoil caused the arthritis in my neck to flare up to the point that it was too distracting to shoot as well as I know the rifles can shoot.
My son and I both managed to ring the steel plates at 200yds consistently...my son more so than I.

We took a break to go eat lunch and then drove to another gun club to shoot handguns.
I shot about 50 rounds through my new to me three screw BlackHawk in .357Magnum.
Accuracy was fairly decent but the sights will require some adjustments to make consistent hits at 25yds. We will make those adjustments on our next shooting trip when hopefully my arthritis won't cause so much trouble.
I also shot a couple of my .41Magnum revolvers, one of my BlackHawks and my Dan Wesson...mostly just to break some rocks on the 25yd berm.
Also shot a couple of cylinders full of .45Colt through one of my SAA clones just to ring steel plates at 7 and 15yds.

Pretty good day...now I have a bunch of brass to separate, tumble and process. My son has several guns to clean ad well

VZ-58, imported via Czechpoint. These are Milled receivers.

These components are totally different than what is inside AKMs. Not even the mags will interchange.
My HK G3 mags for my PTR-91s won't work in an M1A, AR-10 or FAL, yet 'somehow';) This doesn't surprise people.:scrutiny:

And VZ-58s have threaded barrels with bayo lugs. Strange.

Safety reminder: the small- silver - Locking Piece (easy to see) is Not permanently attached to the bolt or carrier.
This separate piece o_O is what keeps the bolt + bolt Carrier against the chamber when it goes Bang. ----------------Don't let anybody disassemble the rifle who might forget to put the piece back onto the bolt.....:scrutiny:

Look into the magwell to double check after rifle is re-assembled.
I can not overemphasize being careful during reassembly.

I finally made it to the range this morning and shot a Walther P38 with the .22 l.r. conversion. The conversion has a barrel insert and a lightened slide that is cut so that the locking block will not engage the slide. The magazines have the ejector on the lip, just like the Swiss P210 conversions. While the unit is accurate and fun, I had ignition problems in this lower with Federal Ultra Match, I had to recock the hammer up to three times to fire some rounds. I find that very detrimental to shooting well. It still did reasonably well offhand at ten yards.

I also shot a S&W 17 that had been shortened and the sights did not work well for me, making shooting slow and follow-through very hard.

Finally I shot my Korth, by that time other people had arrived blasting happily away at a B-27 at five yards. The Korth is easy to shoot and more forgiving with follow through. One shot went way left and I did not see that in my follow through and happily blame the ammo.

I was reminded, that results depend on training and that I will have to get a little more serious about my marksmanship again.

The G42 did exceptionally well. First couple mags I was pushing the rounds left because of my chunky little digits. Overall it is great however. All shooting at 7y. First mag out of the G42 5 went into one hole. Not bad. Bottom target G48

Shot both my 76's today! 45/75 and 50/95. Shooting the stop sign gong with regularity with the 45/75, 100 yards, test loads with the Presidio. All Black powder loads in the Presidio, bit of both BP and Smokeless with Thumper. Cleaning the brass is more a chore than cleaning the rifles, unless I'm doing it wrong. Dump brass in a sink with hot water, use a .45 brush in the sink, then de-prime, now in the wet tumbler.
Also did a bunch of test load shooting with my Sig 1911 Nightmare Fastback in 357sig, and shot some golf balls with my new SA Ronin .45. That is one accurate pistol!

Good news today, my Dad is still cancer free! Good day all around.

I experimented a little bit with a Lothar Walther .22 l.r. and a .38 Special insert for 12 gauge shotguns at 15 yards. I used my old Remington 870 with a 20" barrel with rifle sights. The .22 l.r. shot accurately but high left, the .38 Special was right on but I had overcompensated expecting it to shoot high with the first two shots. It's tedious work and slow to load the single shell with the .38 Special cartidge in the aluminium housing with the short rifled steel barrel sleeve.

Afterwards I just shot four different 9mm handguns at around 11 to 12 yards. The range has lighting conditions with too much light on the front sight for me to get a good sight picture. Over the years, I have noticed that I do better with front sights that are thinner. Twenty years ago I could see the Glock sights pretty well, still.

Last Thursday evening...
42 rounds through my 2020 6 inch Python.

Going to have to decide on two different loads,
one with a 158 grain bullet and one for plinking 125 grain projectiles. (even though I think it is almost a sin not to stick with 158's)

Load count is up to 410 rounds now, should last (me) forever.

Sure do like that revolver!

Shot a 1 day PRS match. This was when I was mounting the scope.

Edit to add pic of me shooting the mover.
