Was always wanting to make shotshells for my 32 SWL and I finally have. They work a lot better than I thought. Using about 49.0 gr of #12 shot and 1.5 gr Unique. The wads i found on sage outdoors. See pictures for results

Can you give more detail on the wads? I made some 32 long shot loads for my bud and I used resized .308 gas checks for wads. I do the same thing with 32 mag cases. And I also use #12 shot.

I looked up Sage. Are you using the aluminum GCs?

No I’m using the 32 cal wads. They might not be in stock right now. I opted for the metal and vegetable wad because it was the same price as the double vegetable wad package. But you can also sharpen the mouth of a case and then use a hammer to punch some out from cardboard or card stock. Look on YouTube. Some guys have some pretty clever ideas for them

Those are impressive! I have never mad my own using wads, just the plastic capsules. On my list to try.

I did the same. About two grains of Unique with a little less than 60 grains of number 12 shot. I cut my own wads from a credit card like plastic material and put one under the shot, one over the shot, add a light crimp, and then top it off with Elmer glue. It is deadly on copperheads!

I have been loading 32 mag shot loads for several years. The first I loaded my bud in Weatherford Tx wanted to keep them to use in his Ruger single six. I got the cases back about a year later. He had killed around 45 snakes with those 50 rounds. He hates snakes. I loaded him another 50 using his brass and shot.

I like to run the .308 gas checks through a Lee .309 sizer die. That makes its easy to get them down the case. I also made a seater from some 10/32 all thread. I screw this in my 357 bullet seater and use those to seat the cup over the powder. This works well and lets me get a maximum amount of shot in the case. Then I seat the top GC with the bottom side up. I can't do that unless I resize the gas checks.

I like making shot loads like this better than using the plastic capsules. I don't think you get the hole in the center of the pattern like you do with the capsules. I guess the rifling can't spin the loose shot like it can the capsules.

Nice! I have done it with .38s and .44s, but never .32 Long. It could make a snake gun out of this little darling.
