There's a Crimson Trace 5-25X56 on the Bergara, and a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25X50 on the Vudoo. I use the Vudoo for matches.

I installed the barricade today. Bars are at 2', 3', 4', & 5', repeat one for the 5th position, or drop down to the crossbar.
Kids stay on the low levels. Ran out of concrete, will fix that tomorrow.


Installed the 5 piece .22 LR KYL at 50 yards yesterday, 1 1/4" down to 1/4".

I'm going to hang some targets off of the bottom 4x4 soon.

Jeff and I are shooting a one day PRS match this coming Sat at Alabama Precision.

We started on the Trump Wall, but shot prone. 589, 597, 645, & 693. I time out but (IIRC) hit 4 of the 6 shots I take. Poor, but not horrible (Saving that for the next stage), 803 yards from two windows, one prone, but a righty is jammed up against the wall. No issue, I'll shoot it left handed. Then a window kneeling height. Targets are IPSCs progressive smaller. I hit one (IIRC) I hear a fellow say, he was hitting stuff right handed....not the issue. So I am told I was high. Hmm. Dope has been awfully good for a long time with this rifle/load. Next is prone 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200. 66%, 66%, 100%, 100%, 100%. I miss high on the first shot, so I take .3 off and hit the second shot at 800, take off .3 and hit both at 900, take off .3 and hit one of two at 1K, timed out. OK, dope is high, but why? Doesn't make sense, barrel is dirty, barrel is approaching 2K rounds, brain is just churning.

Next is IPSCs at 300, 383, 473, & 645 yards, 33%, 45%, 45%, 100%. Two hits. What the heck is going on, am I that rusty unstable???

Next is PRS skills stage, 8 easy hits, right? Jeff argues to trust the dope and keep shooting, but stubborn me takes .3 off and hit four, get up and am told I am low. Jeff says the last shot was 2 mil low right from center. Holy crap. Barrel that bad? Crosshairs were on the plate. I thought......sigh

I settle down, trust the dope, and over the next four stages (Bowling 340, 418, 535, 585, & 750 (hit but late): Pipes 686/15" square & 688/12" square: Helo 287, 323, 332, 662 (Hit but late), & Big/Small 237, 513, 540, 573, & 610, I miss only two shots I took, two didn't count, but I hit them.

So as bad as I started out, I collected myself and shot well afterwards. I haven't shot centerfire since Jan or Feb (Busy moving etc), and boy was I rusty. Finished out 5 for 10 on the mover. Not great, not bad, but I tend not to shoot it great anyway.

I forgot to mention about how the Zeiss LRP 5-25X56 did.

I shot a match in Feb? March? with it and it did great, but as I posted then I was anxious to see how it did in the heat/mirage.

Bottom line is I saw things I haven't seen in the Bushnell XRS II yet. I'm not knocking the XRS II, it's an excellent scope, but the Zeiss glass takes it to another level. At it's price level it should of course, but it's nice to prove it. I could make out much more detail at distance through the mirage than I could with the Bushnell. As I posted before, the clicks are not worthy of this price level, they could be crisper for sure, and I wish they had gone with bright white for the numbers/dashes on the turret instead of off white, that would help these old eyes. I forgot to put on my readers before I got into the helicopter, and when I had to dial I needed them. In the bright sunlight I could have gotten by, but in the shade I could barely see them much less make them out without readers. Young eyes might differ. The eye box is bigger than on Jeff's Kahles, which I like a lot because I hate a small eye box. The smaller eye box doesn't bother him. YMMV

Is this a proprietary mag for Bergara or do the other full size patterned 22 trainer rifles use the same style mag?

I don’t know of another mag that will work. The Vudoo mag is real close, but they generally don’t work.

Like I mentioned in another thread, buy a piece at a time and it doesn’t hurt so much.

No fire forming which appeals to some folks.

Same for my Dasher, a little les velocity, but plenty of accuracy for a PRS match. Your requirements are tighter.

I'm shooting all my fire formed Lapua 6 BR in one Dasher, the other is using Alpha cases. I'll continue to use the fire formed Lapua until it wears out, but then, unless Alpha goes away, I'll likely stick with Alpha. Never say never though, an old barrel, cheap bullets, cheap powder, fire form some more cases, one thing about them is they last a long time. Mine's not even close to wearing out.

Tough call, both have a good rep for accuracy.

Yep, Bergara bolts can be very tight to easy, unless they have fixed it, I had to fix mine, so tight to close it was unusable as is.

A lady was shooting the CZ At-One Varmint with the adjustable cheek riser and length of pull and was wearing us out a couple of matches ago, a real fine choice

Finally received my pre-ordered Tract Toric 4-20X50 PRS LR MRAD FFP scope. It will go on my NRL-22 rifle.

I have never looked through one of their scopes, but have used some Tract 12.5X binoculars and they were very impressive.

I like the looks and turrets, clicks are very nice. I like the pull out to turn turret design. Zero stop setup looks really easy.

I can practice .22 LR out to 150 yards now, and when I build another raised deck (4'X8') I'll be able to reach 175 or so.

I also have some NRL-22 type hangers and paddles I can put wherever I want to.
