Why should I buy the S&W 2.0 10MM.

I have a G20 already and an XDM Elite so why should I spend the money on the new S&W M&P 2.0in 10MM?

Because you like 10mms and you know you want the Smith. You need the Smith. I like mine better than either of my G20s but then again I have little girly hands. And I'm not bashing Glocks because I'm wearing one right now but the Smith just fits my hand better.

Not a fan and certifiable 10mm nut here. Love me some S&W 10x6 but the M&P has never grown on me.

Took it to the range and it shot my reloads well. 180 FMJ over Longshot, a hot load of 800x and XTP’s, Underwood 165’s and 220 Hardcast. The trigger is good and reset is almost scary as I hardly feel the reset after firing a round and walking the trigger forward to reset.

Accuracy wasn’t bad but the sights are different for me so I need to get used to them. Seriously considering a red dot for this if I can’t get used to the taller sights.

Noticed some tooling marks on the slide that looks odd. Doesn’t seem to affect anything.

As for ergonomics, the gun feels better in my hand than the G20 but not as good as my XDM Elite. I prefer the sights on the XDM over the S&W. Trigger reset is better than my Glock and XDM.

Still more shooting to do yet to get a good feel for the gun but so far I’m liking it.

Yeah, the feel of the Gluck is not as good as the XDM which is almost perfection.

I agree!!
I have the M&P 10mm and I really like it!! Out of the box the trigger was really crunchy. 500 rounds later it shoots amazing.
As a reloader, this pistol does not eject the brass into another zip-code!!

The sights on the S&W look very high from photos... how do you like them?

I've been a fan of both the G20 and the G29 for several years. But the Smith won me over on several counts.

* The Compact with a 4" barrel split the difference for me in size between the G20 and G29.
* The Smith has a 4 lb trigger vs a 6 lb trigger on the Glocks. I shoot it better.
* The Smith is set up for optics. I may never use them, but if I choose to do so I'm ready. The taller sights are meant to co-witness optics. I find them easier to use than Glock.
* I wanted a manual safety, but not a 1911. The Smith is the only option. I use my 10mm as my hiking/camping pistol in bear country. I have no issues with a gun having no safety as long as it is in a secure holster until needed. But I wouldn't keep a round chambered with my Glocks while in my sleeping bag at night. I will with the Smith.

The Glocks have proven reliable and durable. That is an unknown at this time with the Smith. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. But so far, so good.
