Winning the Gun Lottery

I paid $200 for a Colt Det Spec mint and traded up to a really nice rare Benchmade 43, which I later regretted. $200 for a Colt Cobra in good shape but worn finish, $75 for a Colt Frontier Scout and $300 for a Colt 1903 .32. I wound up locking out on some of those Colts and some other deals over the years, but more than once I've been on the dirty end of the stick. Sometimes that's how it goes....

what year was that? I found a Benchmade, it’s my favorite knife

I found a $500 Winchester M1 Carbine in damn good shape about a year ago. Called up a friend and he promptly picked it up.

I'd say it was as nice or better than Midway's best when they got a batch in a while back based on pictures and videos I've seen. No way in hell I'd've paid the $1850 they were getting for the "fine" condition ones they had. Doubt I could have even gotten one considering how fast they sold.

Really thought about getting the Winchester, but I was, and still am, low on gun money. The thing was in too good of shape for me to use, anyway. I'd cry if I banged it on something.

A benchmade balisong or? It was a Benchmade 43 T-Latch. Mint. I would have preferred a 43 Springer but later I realized I would have preferred to just keep my detective special. Sometimes you get fixated on something.

I have done that for years, my interests shift from thing to thing but firearms have always been the primary interest so when I trade a gun into something else, I usually always regret it.

I’ll look at it later tonight, it’s all black and cool

I bought a Mosin Nagant, M44, made in 1944.
Probably rearsenalled but in 80%+ condition, not counterbored, nice sharp rifling and bright bore.
$69.95 out the door.
That's at least a 500% return on investment, today.

Sad I can't justify buying more these days.
