No, the round was fired "in battery", just in a 40S&W barrel.I'm assuming this round was fired out of battery ... why ... front bulged?
What's really crazy is I found 4 of them, same headstamp, same area of the range.
Yeh, 9mm fired from a 40.Ok, that makes perfect sense. Think I'll keep that souvenir just as a reminder.
My wife once fired a .380 in a 9mm. Only thing we noticed is that it didn't eject.
Ya'll be careful out there
Cliff
Sizes from the bottom lolThats the new wildcat 9mm-40. I bet those dies are going to be very expensive.
While 9mm case rim can be held by 40S&W extractor for striker/firing pin to hit the primer, I am not sure if 45ACP extractor will hold 9mm case rim properly for striker/firing pin to hit the primer.I'll give in. It was fired in a .45.
I've witnessed it.
If it was fired OOB, think about where the bulge would be. That is, of course, if the brass and everything else survived.I'm assuming this round was fired out of battery, but why is the front bulged?
"one of those cases"I have even seen 264 win mag fired from 300 Weatherby. Guy went from doing Ok to not even making it on paper.
I wish I had asked for one of the cases or at least had a camera handy back then. There was no neck anymore and it had been blown into a now fluted shoulder.
