OK What's the WORST Rifle You have ever owned ?

I have some Japanese rusted out WWII bolt rifle that i cannot even ascertain the caliber. Its just got some Japanese stamp on it. Has some good grooves though.
Not sure why im even hanging on to it. I got it in a group buy.

Rem Viper .22LR semi-auto. Cool looking, but the plastic stock/receiver cover, which included and integral scope rail, must have been warped or something. Could never get it to shoot low enough to get a zero at 25 yds. and it had a 10# trigger - intentionally according to the OM.. Bought it for my son when he was 12 because he liked the look. Still have it just because of that. Don't feel right pawning it off on someone else.

chiappa double badger in 22LR/410ga. Misfires due to mis-shaped firing pin, warranty job on that, never got better than 6" accuracy at 50 yards with anything I tried in it, and very high velocity ammo like stingers and velocitors needed to be hammered out of the chamber. Even selling it was a headache as I had to be honest about it.

The one that probably bummed me out the most was my savage 12 BVSS. It would keyhole bullets and was also blowing up bullets coming out of the muzzle. I sent it back to get rebarreled and the new barrel did the same thing so I put a criterion barrel on it myself.

sounds like a rifle twist problem. blowing up bullets would mean to fast a twist but then keyholing would mean to slow a twist. you had both problems with one barrel lol

1911 Schmitt Rubin sporterized ( poorly) with buck horn sights. So far out of sighted in that no one could hit paper at close range !

SKS not worth the 70 bucks back in the day.

Neither were the Mosin Nagants.

Maybe try a big red dot optic?

Remington 700 ADL in .223 rem. It wouldn't group better than like 4 to 4 1/2" at 100 yards. Sold it as fast as I could and bought a Savage Axis in .223 Rem and never looked back. My savage got me my 1st coyote and it was a double!! Out to 125 to 140 yards.

Are you sure you've got Czech made SKS's in your collection?

To the best of my knowledge, they never made or used them, preferring the homegrown VZ-52 and VZ-52/57.

All of my rifles are turds, they will not shoot a good group.

M 1905 Canadian Ross in .303. Sights even worse than an M1903 Springfield, and had the "British solution" -- the chamber hogged out to make extraction easier. Fired cases came out looking like a .303 Epps.

Back in the 60's I bought an Italian Carcano carbine from Alden's Mail Order catalog.

I don't know if it was just the one I bought,,,
Or if they were all like the one I got,,,
But mine was a true piece of crap.

When I ordered the rifle I also ordered 250 rounds of mil-surp ammo,,,
With my British .303 or my 8mm German Mauser,,,
I could pop rats at the dump out to 50 yards.

With that Carcano I was fortunate if I could hit a coke can at 25 yards.

I tried everything the gun mags said to get a mil-surp rifle to shoot properly,,,
But even then it was a worse shooter than even my 7.7 mm Japanese.

Remington 770. I practically had to pay someone to take that rifle off my hands. Feed ramps were so chattered I could hand feed rounds in the chamber faster and smoother than from the magazine. And it was less accurate with a scope than the iron sights on my 70 year old Mosin.

Winchester Model 190. My aunt bought all of her nephews one for Christmas in the late 80’s. All were a POS.

Seems like a lot of the same companies & guns keep getting mentioned..

Yeah the only Ruger I have left is a New Vaquero - my only SAA clone. I'm done buying Ruger, or Savage, or anything cheap. Having money later in life has its privileges.

One of the biggest issues with the Winchester 190/290 series rifles is the barrel nut can and does come loose after a while which will lead to poor accuracy and function issues. It has stayed tight on my Model 190 but then again I haven't shot it much since I was a teenager either.

A first generation savage axis. Like when they first came out.

Had 2, an m pra 472 I bought used with a 20 thousandths headsoace issue. Bolt wouldn't close all the way until the hammer dropped, fired fine the second hit, that was inspected by a local gunsmith and returned, in trade for a rem 11-48 12 ga. The second an r77, made in the early 90's during the flip a coin for a usable rifle barrel, that wouldn't group into 5 in at 100 yds and the adjustable trigger wouldn't go below 5 lb, plus the creepy gritty pull made me trade it off for my first savage 110.

Flimsey stock and even flimsier magazine latch. Wouldn't have been so bad if spare mags weren't $50 each.....

The edge was even worse, when they changed the name to axis I think they made a few changes. Every time I shot the edge something broke. First gun I've owned where the plastic stock cracked from recoil, that's after the recoil pad fell off, they had the little square plastic piece holding the pad on.
