Affordable 22LR (Lowest shipped pricing)

Took 11 kinds of .22lr to the range this morning; some of it is affordable, some not so much. Some of it is among the ammo that Live Life has been keeping track of. Shot 5 rounds of each variety at 50m through my Savage Mk II with Burris 3-9x Droptine scope. Here's how my group sizes stacked up. from best accuracy to worst:

1. SK Standard Plus 1/4"
2. Wolf Match 7/16"
3. SK Rifle Match 1/2"
4. CCI Standard Velocity 5/8"
5. Eley Target 5/8"
6. Norma Match 5/8"
7. Norma Tac-22 9/16"
8. Lapua Center-X 11/16"
9. Eley Club 7/8"
10. Aguila Super Extra 1 1/8"
11. Federal Auto-Match 1 3/8"

Of course, your mileage my vary. I couldn't believe the SK Standard, it did far better than the higher-priced SK Match and Lapua. All of those are at or above 20 cents a round, so not something that I will be shooting often. For my money, the CCI SV is the way to go; in fact, I just got a case delivered this week from Target Sports USA for $399.95, plus tax; with free shipping, worked out to about 8 cents a round. :D

The winner:

UPDATE: I have not shot Cascade International 22LR which is Mexican made ammunition tested to be decent in accuracy and reliability on RFC (50 round shot group at 200 yards) -

Surprised you didn't get better groups with either of these. My stock 10/22 gets about 3/4" at 50 yards with either the AutoMatch or Aguila Standard. Could just be a bad lot or your gun just doesn't like it.

I've found this to be true for pretty much any rifle I've encountered so far.

FYI, the Norma Tac-22 in 7th place should be in 4th place. 9/16 is smaller than 5/8, at least it is in Arkansas.
4. CCI Standard Velocity 5/8"
5. Eley Target 5/8"
6. Norma Match 5/8"
7. Norma Tac-22 9/16"

Typo on my part, should've been 11/16" for the Norma. ;)

I don't think those were bad lots. Rifles are sorta like people, each has their own particular likes and dislikes. My Savage just doesn't like the Auto-Match but my Ruger American does.

Dang, you got me! I was excited to see the Piney Mountain tracers back!
But those are 53 cents EACH!
$29 for a box of just 50.
Which is much more inline with their previous cost, before the plant burned down.
For certain, I am pleased they were able to make a come back!

My wallet nearly starved putting concrete around this place. The prices are getting good, when it’s not so emaciated I’ll be rolling in waxy lead!:D

UPDATE: We are slowly inching down towards $30/500.

Palmetto State Armory has Norma Tac 22 target variety for 3.99/50 39.90/500 in store. I’m trying it in my Victory pistol and Henry lever action for informal competition and practice.

That probably was a typo and meant $30 for a box of 400.
Who knows. Amazon deliberately lowers prices on certain items now and then to crazy levels like this just to create a buzz. It must work well for Amazon because they keep doing it, so maybe these guys are just quietly giving the same thing a shot (pun intended).
