I’ve read about folks putting their gun in a Walmart bag and leaving in the holster for a few days. Haven’t heard about wetting the leather. Call the maker of your holster and ask.

Ummm, it's called wet molding for a reason. As long as the leather is vegetable tanned it's ok. I wouldn't do it on cheap chrome tanned leather.
