I found these illustrations in Ned Robert's "The Muzzle-Loading Cap Lock Rifle. The drawing was provided to Mr Roberts by Mr. Wm. V. Lowe.

These are pictures of the Primer Ignition Device installed on a Brockway Rifle.

There is a similar device designed to work with 209 shotgun primers, I believe it is called mag spark. Haven't looked in a while, but they were still being sold a few years ago.

In Robert's book, he mentioned that Primer Ignition Devices were also made that used shotgun (209) primers. In today's climate of uncertain availability of primers of any sort, IMHO, it would be useful to have Primer Ignition Devices of various sorts so one could shoot no matter what sort of primers were available, or not.

Oooo dang! if I did, and might for S&G’s but… would never post or admit it. My buddies here would put me on IGNORE quicker that a Hot Swap cylinder

Eh, worth a try. I picked one up to fool with. I really prefer my caplocks and round ball, but I don't regret trying or owning one. They feel too much like a single shot centerfire rifle chambered in .50 Shoulderpain, but I can see the appeal for people who don't really get their kicks playing with smokepoles but still want to hunt in ML seasons. I am keeping mine (scoped!) because I occasionally need something other than a .22 or shotgun to hunt stuff like turkeys or beavers on properties where I can't have a centerfire rifle. While I would rather use a round ball gun for that stuff, some shots require a scope with my awful eyesight and I am not putting one on a sidelock.

I want to try one… just to shoot those Crazy looking .50cal Sabot bullets. What kidda ballistic can you do with those ugly guns? looks like they can take a elephant

If I wanted to take an elephant I would load a solid bullet in my 58.

The 50 cal inline shot pretty well with a 370 grain Maxie ball. Plenty for an elk.

Because you have an open mind, and believe you could enjoy old school and modern muzzleloaders at the same time. I have time for both as well.
I literally been missing out!!! It reminds me of when were kids and taking fireworks apart for powder and makings pvp morders and radio control stuff zi can’t really talk about! lol
