Between those two- the AK.

I'll pick the lightweight AR with red dot. Looks like a nice shooter.

For years I preferred AK but after a few AR builds I’m more into them now. So I would pick the ultralight.

Not a fan of the one-piece poly lowers, so in this case- AK.
And thats a particularly nice AK too.

Also, I know, I know red dots and their batteries are much tougher than they used to be, but I still gotta have my BUIS.......

I'm just about done with my light (not ultra lightweight) build, and never really loved AK's so I'll go with the AR.

Doesn’t matter what we think… you decided on each with the parts you wanted. And you like them both. That’s the name of the game. Whatever we think, what we like has no bearing.

It must have some bearing. Why else would he have asked us? Personally I wouldn't ask a question like that on a forum. There's more than plenty AR vs. AK threads as it is, but apparently the OP doesn't agree so.....

They are yours so you have to make the choice. Neither are my thing so I'm passing on any advise.

Better yet, I choose to mix them. 762x39 ar. Love mine. and they are reliable as hell.

Who did it? I would love to send out a rifle to be done up like that. My experience with paint was not that good. Tho is still look good, it did not look like the old BDU scheme.

I did it with a couple of spray cans and some cut out printer paper "templates". Its actually very easy to do. My version of Multicam.

If I could pick one and nothing else, it would be the AR, full stop, no question, not even close. If I was picking one to add to my existing collection it would be the AK because I've always wanted to have one and I already own a small pile of nice accurate AR's and am pretty bored of them.

Hard to pick between these two. The AR is my recently completed ultralight WWSD 14.7” build, and the AK is my extremely reliable and beefy Arsenal SAM-7. The WWSD is much lighter but the AK is so solid and I’ve put way more rounds through it.

Personally I’d prefer the AK recreationally because it’s just cooler. It’s the quintessential gun of “bad guys.” Basically, I will never grow a mohawk, or get tattoos, or play as the lead musician in a counter-culture rock band, but I can take a Commie/terrorist gun to the range

But for actual serious “use?” (Whether that’s combat, home defense, pest control, or whatever) I’d take the AR every time.
