Wish I woulda known about him when I lived in the area! Would have been really cool to see something like that in person.

I have found there were other gunsmiths around the country also making their own stainless copies of Colt cap-and-ball percussion revolvers; I'll post a photo later of another one I have...

Hey Guys,

I've never had a stainless steel firearm,
but I do use a lot of stainless steel hardware on my Antique Snowmobiles.
It just keeps on shining and no rust like nickle plated stuff.
The question I have is, has anyone experienced thread galling?
I know if we encounter any resistance with stainless steel, we remove & replace with another and anti-seize.
When a thread rolls with stainless steel it will weld itself together and make removal almost impossible.

I have seen that in the aviation world as well. Putting antisleaze on it does help. I don't foresee it happening all that much in guns unless someone gets way to enthusiastic when tightening screws.

The cylinder came back from Mr. Hahn today.
He really does excellent work. Asm had drilled the chambers so bad the rammer wouldnt drop into three of the chambers. they now all work

ASM made some really nice stuff and some not so nice stuff. I have about 6 of them 5 are good quality. 1 not so much. Once they are tuned and arbors corrected on the Colts they are good solid machines.

better then modern Uberti?

I prefer Armi san marco to uberti or pietta.
Strictly because of the feel of them. like others have stated they are near identical replicas to the originals.
All ASM revolvers ive seen from the 80's parts will swap out perfectly with 2nd gen colts and one of
ASM selling points in magazine ads is that their parts will swap out with 1st gen and 2nd gen colts.
