Here's the rules, they're really simple.
You can pick either the Revolver category or the Auto category. And you can pick three guns from that category. What would those three be?
I'm a revolver guy first and foremost. I like autos, but I am a wheel gunner at heart.
1. Ruger Redhawk In 5.5in barrel 44 mag
2. S&W 686 no dash 4in 357 mag
3. Ruger Single Six 5in 22lr
Hunting, defense and plinking I am covered. All 3 are proven winners and are rock solid performers.

I have to go with revolver. (Handguns I own)
1) S&W 69 4.25" 44mag - hunting/woods carry
2) S&W 442 38+p - ccw/defense
3) S&W 686+ 357 - target/home defense

If a plinking 22lr needs to be in the mix then I need to change to semiautomatics.
1) Springfield Arms XDM compact 45acp - woods carry
2) Ruger LCPII 380 - ccw/defense
3) S&W Victory 22lr - plinking

I need to add a 22lr revolver to my collection. A 617 or Single six would be nice. Maybe a Ruger Wrangler as a less expensive option.

Revolver

S&W Model 15 .38 4-inch
S&W Model 15 .38 4-inch
S&W Model 15 .38 2-inch
S&W Model 14 .38.6-inch (Yeah, I'm a cheat.)

This is basically a what three guns you own you couldn't live without question and it's tough, but I had to weigh my three favorites for revolvers and autos and I asked myself could I live without the autos and the answer was yes and the revolvers no, so for me

1. Redhawk .45 Colt/ACP
2. Charter Arms Bulldog .357 4 inch
3. NAA MiniMaster

This reminds me I need to get that Charter sent back for repair.

Glock 34.5 - carry it or 2nd on list
Glock 22.5 - my other primary carry (I also have a 35.4 that has a 357 Sig barrel, but sticking with three)
Kahr PM9 - pocket gun to go along with the Glock on belt. (I like the Sig 365 better but it is not compatible with all pockets whereas the PM9 is)

I would not want to be with my S&W revolvers but if I could only keep 3 of a single type, they’d be semi-autos because I wouldn’t go without a Browning International Medalist. It’s the handgun that I enjoy shooting more than any other.

Browning International Medalist
CZ 75 SP-01
CZ 97B

(New) Colt King Cobra 3" - Carry
(1970s) Ruger Super Blackhawk 8" - Hunting
(1971) S&W 27. 5" - Beauty

Revolvers win. More versatility and greater maximum power potential and better accuracy (just me) And they are prettier to boot.

Semi Autos take a close second.
If I were to go their route I'd go.
Glock 19- Carry, etc, etc.
Mid century Colt commercial 1911- Beauty
Glock 40MOS- hunting and blowing $#/÷ up
