Storing your big irons in the safe.....

I'm satisfied how the Autos (handguns) get stored, and Glocks no problem, etc. I'm getting into a train of thought where my revolvers are in these 5 gun safe racks coated with a fairly soft rubberized paint coating...and I'm not really liking it. I have a feeling the cylinders are getting a bit scuffed on a few of the cylinders (by scuffed, i mean ever so slightly), and the big bore wheelguns sit higher on the racks. It's only been a few years, and some of the soft plastic material is wearing away on these steel racks made out of like 1/2" welded and coated steel bar stock. (These are cheap made in China racks that are about 10$ each. They work fine for most all semis)
I reckon some real damage could someday occur and it will be out of nowhere, and I would be like whoa!!! I'd rather not wait for damage start to occur. I don't have the room to lie them flat on the shelf either, need some sort of rack to Hold them vertically and parallel to one another.
Any sugestions??

Several good Handgun racks/holders made of rubber foam, pvc or coated metal that you can sit on a shelf or hang on Amazon . I just bought one made of rubber foam and pvc that will hold 6 handguns up right that sits on a shelf. They may even have one not made in china.

Mine are all in soft pistol cases. I stack them like firewood. No worries.

I just stack mine on the top shelves in my safe. They are protected by heavyweight, 100% synthetic, men's socks from Walmart. This is a many years method and I have had no damage at all.

I use dish drying racks in my safe, keeps them off one another and easy to snatch the one I want.

Try "Handgun Hangers" in your safe. I have a top shelf in my safe and I can fit about 15-20 handguns across the shelf on these hangers without them touching each other. Works great and no chance of external wear. There are several kinds that you can use as indicated in the picture.

They sell them all over. Amazon, Brownells, Cabellas, etc. They work well.

Let see one in the computer room, one in the bedroom, and one in the safe.
Dont have any storage problems. Should take the P220 out of the safe and take it for a walk.

I don't have a safe. I have a closet. My handguns are stacked on the shelf two and three deep. Some are in hard cases, most aren't.

I have a 5-gallon bucket in the bottom of my safe. I just toss 'em in there, then dig through 'em to fish out the one I'm looking for.

I use the snap-safe holders, depending on the location in the safe a 2-4-6 or 8-gun holder.

For large caliber revolvers I did have to spread the holders put a bit to clear the large N-frame/Redhawk sized cylinders. The outer ones at each end are the ones to spread out, so the big guns usually ride in 2 gun racks or 4 gun racks with two smaller framed guns in the middle two slots.

One thing I have done is cut the legs down by an inch with an angle grinder to give a bit more headroom to squeeze them in.

This is what we call a "humble brag" thread - nice collection, sir! I wish I had enough to fill up my safe the normal way! My revolvers are actually in nylon holsters in the safe, except the black powder ones. The 1851 is sitting upright on a display stand, the 1860 is in its Navy Arms wooden box, and the 1858 is in the Uberti box it came in, in a drawer. No humidity down here to worry about.

Same here with me; I have several pistol safes and have all of my handguns in soft cases, stacked neatly inside. I have one tall safe for rifles and shotguns, with the long guns also stored in gun cases.

Funny. I just bought two of those that Rio is using. I can’t imagine that I would ever put enough wear on the racks to wear off what appears to be a fairly heavy rubber’ coating of exposing the metal underneath.

The larger framed revolvers (Red hawks) cylinders do sit close to their neighbors. I might go the sock route mentioned above as I have several pairs of Smart Wools close to their life expectancy.

Me too -- I mostly just use the Midway soft pistol cases (or equivalent) and write the gun model on the outside with a paint pen so I can tell at a glance what's in the case.

I'm envious of Riomouse911's quantity and display, though. My hodge-podge of soft cases don't look like much all stacked up in a relatively small area when I open the safe door.
