Wilson Combat Rear Sight, 2020 Colt Python

It looks like Wilson is putting out a copy of the old Colt Elliason Target sights. It was the same sight that came standard on the Colt 1911 Gold Cup

I had a set of the Elliason sights, replacing the stock Accro rear sight, my on my old Python PPC gun

I am on the hunt for one of these, if I ever cross one that is MSRP I will likely buy it then and there.

People buy things for different reasons, personally I want this because the darn thing is art. So darn good looking. For me the sights detract from that. Perhaps if I chose to play a game with it I would change it, kinda doubt it, don't care much about scores anymore, I just can't move that well.

The new Pythons are the best that’s ever been made by Colt’s. They’re a fine shooting iron to say the least. Glad some options for sights are available as there’s been many complaints of loose sights on the new snake guns.

I'm totally amused by the number
of 2020 Python buyers who are
willing to accept the highly
questionable rear sight and
be willing to super glue/loctite
it in place.

And it's doubly amusing that others
are now willing to shell out close to
$200 to get a decent aftermarket
set of sights.

But but but but it's a COLT

Guilty as charged and trust me having to spend $124 to upgrade the sight on a $1,500 gun is a bit of a kick in the berries.

Again guilty as charged. I want Colts in my collection, simple as that. I would caution anyone buying one with the expectation of it being the end all be all of revolvers, you might be buying it for the wrong reasons.

From a tech point of view, the new Pythons are stronger and more accurate than ever. They’re phenomenal SHOOTERS, and they’re made to be shot and carried.

Minor teething issues are to be expected with ANY brand. Colt should be rightfully proud of their new snake guns, they’re the finest production revolvers in America at the moment.

My Magnum Research BFR begs to differ. It is a single action though.

Cha-ching, cha-ching goes the
cash register. Bill Wilson in a
recent video explains the
development of the Python 2020
rear sight. :):):)

I'll admit the Wilson sets are nice but if you don't want to pony up for them just apply one of the 3 fixes that can be done to the sight. Two of them available if you search the net and apply. The other is send it back to the mother ship and they will fix it.

What does the ugly QR code on the side of it say if you scan it? Just looks so wrong on there! Should be a partial refund for it being there.

I would take a Freedom Arms over one every time, pony on it or not. Plus, I don't need to buy sights for a Freedom or glue them in place.

I'm sure CZ (current owner of Colt) will get it right soon. They seem to be doing things well now.

arrrrgh
I agree about the QR code but I didn't know about problems with the rear sight. What???

Well, since you asked...I have the Python Target revolver...I changed to a RDS for accuracy...didn't much notice the wiggle of the sight until I read about it. But I would likely buy that Wilson if I were to go back to irons, that stock sight is not top shelf quality, it's just 'good enough'.

I was thinking that code on the side was odd, a Sig 226 I recently acquired has that ID on the frame, but a sticker and can be (not that easily) removed...I didn't like it 'cause it's ugly and I heard it was bad Ju-Ju or sumphin'...now my Colt has one engraved on there...I thought about polishing it off, but...21st century man's problems.

Ever handled or shot a Freedom Arms revolver? Miles ahead of Colt in fit and finish.
