Best bipod for the money?

Under $200, Harris bar none.

The only exception is the absurdism: Harris knock-offs can be had for $50, half of the price of the real deal, delivering more than half of the performance. They’re not on par with Harris bipods for durability and stability, but for the casual shooter, they are serviceable and cheap.

But the Harris are great. I use them on my match rifles, for a reason.

I have to agree that Harris bipod will be your best choice.

Yes you can get knockoffs for half the price but they also have half the quality. Yes I do have a couple of Harris knockoff bipods and they do work for occasional hunting use, I stick with Harris for my precision shooting when a bipod is used.

for the money? a harris knockoff like caldwell.

I have a Harris along with a Caldwell and there is definitely a difference in the quality between the two.

With that being said, it will also depend on your individual use.

1. Are you wanting a bipod for hunting and/or occasional target shooting from a bench?
2. Are you wanting a bipod for long range precision shooting?

If you answer yes to No 1 then a Caldwell is perfectly fine

If you answered yes to No 2 then spend the money for a Harris.

I use the Cvlife ones from amazon. They work for me.

Like I said, it all depends on your individual uses/needs.

For me, I'll never buy another cheap knockoff bipod. all of the ones I have tried are not as good as an actual Harris. And yes I still use my Caldwell bipod on hunting rifles and it works fine. For more precision shooting I use my Harris bipods. The Harris bipods are more stable for me.

Then I suggest going with a Harris bipod then. Unless you can find a used Atlas bipod in good shape AND in your price range.

I would shop PRS focused forums and matches.

I've never liked the external springs of the Harris. If you don't want the external springs, and you want a quality bipod, you have to pay more -- unless you can find something like the Israeli-made Command Arms.

I use a CVLife on my AR-10. It's the Carbon Fiber one. I also have a Harris on my Savage 110 Tactical. The CVLife is for my money as good as the Harris. I found them researching a "Best Bipods" article. They actually had CVLife listed as a great buy. So far, for me it is.

I like my new magpul bipod a little better than the Harris but they're not quite 9-13".
I was shopping around and got a new Atlas BT10 V8 for under $200 reciently.
I also got a new Atlas CAL for $218 from Optics Planet you just need to get one of their coupon codes they'll prolly have a good one for black Friday.

Harris under $200. If I feel like I absolutely need to rely on a bipod and can only spend that, no real other option.

As had been mentioned, though, you can get some decent Harris knockoffs pretty cheap if you just need something for range and fun use.

What I did personally was set up my Harris with a QD Picatinny adapter and put pic rails on all my rifles so they can share the same bipod.

On topic with this, I have a several Harris bipods. All of mine mount on a sling stud. They all fit tightly with no movement between the bipod and the stock. Recently, I had some replacement bipod legs machined to go on the bipod base. I didn't want to tear apart a Harris and drill holes in it to bolt the new legs to. I bought a knockoff thinking it would work, especially since I was trashing the legs. I drilled it and bolted on the new legs. It seemed rock solid until mounted it on the gun. The mount fit the gun tightly and has a large amount of movement. The knock off looks very much like a Harris and mounts like a Harris, but the quality isn't there.

Ya, ones that mount to the sling stud. I've tried a couple different ones.

This is the one I used most recently, works fine but is a bit of an eyesore if that matters to you. Didn't to me.

Harris on my rifles; S models with PodLocs. I've put ARCA rail adapters on a couple of them. I keep wanting to try an Atlas but don't want to spend the money.

Yeah I've got a Caldwell Academy store brand rip off Harris and it's OK for the 40 bucks or something I paid for it. It sits under my CZ 457 Pro Varmint 22LR and does just fine on it.

Atlas are great, but if you’re spending the money beyond a Harris, get an MDT Cyke pod. Exceptionally versatile, the legs will go seemingly anywhere, and lock rigidly. The double pull and triple pull are super slick for field shooting also, with crazy tall max heights, still in a “prone-able” minimum height.
