Dumb EDC

However, pictures of people carrying impractical belts with multiple firearms, heavy magazine load outs, some long arms, etc. can be and have been used to motivate local councils to pass ordinances forbidding open carry, and to cause businesses to post their property. It's not that they might offend--it's that they can inflame, awaken sleeping dogs, and reinforce negative prejudices.

Any gun control proponent doesn't need us to reinforce his or her own negative prejudices. The media does that all day, every day. And make no mistake, they will twist anything we say or do; remove or modify any context that suits them, to paint us in a bad light. This silly thread about dumb EDC gear isn't even a blip on our public image radar.

Kleanbore recalled:

Our purpose is to provide "online discussion board dedicated to the discussion and advancement of responsible firearms ownership. It is the declared mission of this board to achieve and provide the highest quality of firearms discussion on the Internet, a standard set by the discussion board "The Firing Line" in 1998.

The situation was different in 1998.

Just sayin'.

No 'ffense.

The mere existence of a board discussing firearms, advocating the RKBA is offensive to some people.
The revolver looks a 22. A scoped SA .22 not very practical for EDC IMHO, on the other hand one in 44 Magnum and above where you might encounter "lions and tigers and bears, oh my !" makes sense.

If you're referring to the revolver in the OP, it's a FA 454. Probably less practical than a 22.

I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that the OPs kit is very indicative of that of Yukon Cornelius, who carried a fixed blade, a single action revolver and a manual impact tool, all forward of his hips.

That said, to maintain the integrity of the thread, if any remains, and to stay within the scope of THR, I think the scope on a pistol to carry would be somewhat awkward to carry in anything other than a chest rig or possibly a shoulder holster

The OP's thread is not just about carry guns but supporting EDC items, as well. For instance, along with a P229SAO or 1911, I also carry a bucket of popcorn and a neck brace (so I don't strain my neck shaking my head) for when people take gun related posts too seriously.

Some of y'all post pics of some mighty fine EDC gear. I wondered what would be the dumbest package I could piece together without working too hard at it. Not much for staging, but here's what I came up with. I'm sure some of you can do better...

Is that one of the old Nextel cellular radios in the photo. A company I ran work for in the '90's had me carry one of those things. It was like toting a brick in your back pocket. The yellow ones were actually smaller than the one I had.
Interestingly enough, there are people I see post on the forums that carry single action revolvers. Some carry large knives. I guess we all make our choices & take our chances.

Edited to Add: I have carried a tinner's hammer in & out of work with me when working in an area where I didn't like walking in before the sun came up I used a home made hammer holder I bent up out of a welding rod on my belt. I have used one so much at work it is just about an extension of my hand. Something along the lines of this. Wooden handles always wear out but I prefer a wooden or fiberglass handle as it absorbs shock instead of transferring it to your arm. 20 oz. wood handle sheet metal hammer #20THWD - J Bee Enterprises

I think that assortment about takes the cake. The scoped S/A is about as bad as one could get for concealed, then the hand sledge is the kicker. Well chosen. :)

For the wanna-be thread-closers, this thread while obviously in jest, seems to be in line with the precious mission. If everything has to be taken deadly serious, then the thread is about responsible gun ownership and usage, and what NOT to do out there.
