Has anybody successfully stained them to look like aged ivory? I'm trying to stain mine with tea but it doesn't seem to be working.
I use Feibing's alcohol based leather dye. Saddle brown is good. Keep applying coats to get the shade you want. A quick shot of clear coat helps keep the finish durable. These were Ruger white plastic grips.Has anybody successfully stained them to look like aged ivory? I'm trying to stain mine with tea but it doesn't seem to be working.
Coffee stains teeth was more that tea. Tea is leaves, but coffee is bean and roasted!I'm thinking if tea wont do it then neither will coffee. I'll give the tea a few days and if it doesn't work I'll try coffee.

I’ll dip my 58, ugly snow white ivory in coffee too! see what happensIt's worth a shot. I don't have any leather dye.

$800! wwwoooooowwwweeee! If I had that kind of money I'd get the 795.00 walrus ivory and put them on a 1st gen.
they are cloning Woolly’s right now!!!! no jokeI'd get bone grips, I don't like Faux.
Little bit fancy, Giraffe bone.
Or antler, horn, or any of the exotic woods.
Woolly Mammoth
I don't really like faux either but I can't afford the nice wood, bone, antler grips. I can't afford to even look at mammoth ivory.
@Mark_Mark will eventually buy a gun that has the grips you want, I am sure he would give them to you for postage...If I had that kind of money I'd get the 795.00 walrus ivory and put them on a 1st gen.
I’ve bought a couple sets of grips from this company. Excellent craftsmanship.
